Hi, in a previous post, someone mentioned apricot seeds as a cancer preventative. I've heard of this before, but the question is, where do you find apricot seeds? Anyone have a source? Mary

Mary, you can find the active principal in the apricot pits in most health food stores, it has various names, vitamin B 15, vitamin P, but it is pangamic acid. All clinical, double blind, placebo controlled studies have been inconclusive to it's effectiveness, except for the Russian studies, they think it's great stuff over there! For what it's worth, it won't hurt you taken as directed, but don't expect it alone to make a difference. Annie in SE OH.

According to the health food store I used to work for, it's Laetril (sp). You know, that illegal substance that helped some people get over cancer. People even left the country that used it.

We have access to it at the healhfood store where I work (apricot kernals) but my boss will NOT even special order. He's paranoid that the FDA (?) will come knocking.

Cindy, isn't Laetril just a brand name for pangamic acid? Our health food store/drug store sells pangamic acid supplements. Much was made of this supplement back in the 1970's, haven't heard much about it since then. Annie in SE OH.

The apricot seeds have vitamin B17, which some people believe is the cure for cancer. A book called A World Without Cancer talks about this. Years ago the pharmaceutical companies realized they couldn't patent a vitamin, therefore couldn't make big profits off of it like they do from their drugs, so they pressured the FDA to ban it, making people leave the country to get it. I don't know this first hand, I've only read it but it sounds like something that could happen. I do know someone who feels they are alive because of the seeds, they had cancer throughout their whole body & was sent home to die, that was 20 yrs. ago & he's the picture of health today.

Annie, I don't know about the brand name thing, but could very well be.

They also needlessly banned L-Tryptophan and have tried hard to ban vitamin E.

Well, I don't have cancer. I just wanted the seeds to eat as a preventative/supplement. I was thinking about crushing them and putting them in breads etc. Just a thought, but if they are so hard to find, I guess I won't be doing that. I really don't want what they sell in health food stores, as that is always the most expensive way to go. If anyone ever comes across a source, please put it on the forum. Thanks!

Mary, I don't think it would be wise to eat apricot pits anyway, they contain small amounts of cyanide, like the wild cherry leaves do when wilted. I don't know what the actual threshold is for eating them, but I wouldn't recommend it at all. Annie in SE OH.

I somehow found this page and noticed all the questions about these seeds. A few years ago my dad was really close to developing prostate cancer, his PSA was skyhigh...I took it upon myself to learn as much as i could about cancer. I came across certain websites talking about these Apricot seeds, "Seeds from God" they called them. If you dont have cancer then taking a certain amount a day (7 of them i believe) would protect you from cancer the rest of your life. If you do have cancer, then depending on the stage your at, the seeds would still help...Terminal cancer is just that, but i have read that the person does not pass away in pain if the seeds are consumed. If the person with cancer is not in the terminal stage there is a 97% chance they can recover...this is staggering! Why dont more people know about this? One word, FDA. The cure has been known for at least 50 years. I have the book, World Without Cancer...please purchase this if you can. Im not a conspiracist at heart, but our Government has really turned on its people all for money. There are so many details, i have left certain sites for you to look at...the cyanide in the seeds DOES not harm the body, this is a different type of cyanide. It kills the cancer cells in the body! It is all explained in the book and on certain sites. The third website i have left for you above is a site with hundreds of testimonies from people having all kinds of cancers and being at all kinds of stages who have overcome cancer with these seeds. The FDA is trying to get the seeds banned, after reading about the history of this great scandal it really makes me sick at my stomach to find that our government does not care...i mean really sick. Interesting points raised on Apricot kernels as a cancer cure. Here in England this has also been the subject of conversation but you can't buy them anywhere. I'm not sure if they're illegal; I wouldn't be surprised - a cheap cancer cure is in nobody's interests (apart from people with cancer, but what do they matter, when drug company profits are at stake). I understand they are available very cheaply in S.Africa. They do contain cyanide, and of course when people hear that then they don't won't to know, because it's poisonous. I think the people of Hiroshima might say that radiation was poisonous, but that doesn't stop people queuing up for a dose when they get cancer. My limited understanding is that it's the cyanide in the kernels that attacks the cancer, and that the form of cyanide involved isn't the poisonous kind. I have also heard that another cure for cancer is to catch syphillis. A bit drastic, but perhaps syphillis will take a lot longer to kill you. Anyway, that's all from the London expert.

You can get Apricot kernels (the pips) in Hunza Apricots from health food stores. Hunza Apricots are traditionally organic and are supplied dried. To use them, soak them in water for 6 hours or so, then bring to the boil and immediately turn down the heat. Allow to simmer for about half an hour. Eat the Apricots with the juice as a dessert. The juice is naturally very sweet and tastes fantastic. Put the Apricot kernels to one side and break open the nut shell with a nut cracker or a hammer. Eat the seeds or nuts from inside the shell. They taste fantastic! Good luck! P.S. The FDA also banned the traditional growing of bitter almonds some time around the 1950's, for the simple reason that they were one of the traditional cures for cancer. The FDA is a corrupt government institution. At some time in the future they will be brought to book for crimes against humanity!

My partner has had cancer on and off since she was 19. Three years ago she had a tumor in her head and in her leg, when traditional chemo almost killed her (and they wanted to amputate her leg) we found WorldWithoutCancer and the miracle vitamin "amygdalin" or Laetril, B-17...etc. She was given less than 6 months to live.
