Anyone know of a really good goat forum?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I miss the dairygoats.com discussion board, which was wonderful until some sick pervert came along and ruined it. Now it doesn't seem to be there at all. Does anyone know of something similar?

Type in Breeders World, there is a sheep, goat, cow forum, plus all kinds of other stuff. I use the sheep forum for help all the time. It is www breeders world. I have it bookmarked, if you can't find it, I will get the website number exactly. Debbie

Hi Rebekah,

I wondered what happened to the dairy goat forum. i used to check in there from time to time and was told that some pretty sick stuff happened. It seemed that it was cleaned up and then I went one day and it was gone. Oh well!:(:( (sigh) There are 2 that i go to that are really nice, one is at goatworld, its http://www.goatworld.com go to the discussion board. Then there is the goat shed which is a spin off from some of the folks here on this forum. Go to msn, then communities and then the goat shed. There are also a few goat club on yahoo which are like forums, go to yahoo, then clubs and then type in goatbreeders, goattime, goattalk, alpine... can't recall the rest of it off hand or just type in for search goats. Then there are some other forums if you are interested i can give you or talk lists on egroups. Take care.

Hi Rebekah. I miss the dairygoats.com forum too. I check in there still expecting to see it restarted. I believe it will be. It usually takes about 4-6 months of inactivity to "cool off" the perverts!! ;-))

I belong to a couple email type groups...one is from Washington State university... goats@listproc.wsu.edu

the other is practical-goats@egroups.com

they aren't as cozy as dgoats.com was; but I still can get my goat fix that way. There are some very very knowledgable folks on the list including Vicki McGaugh.

I hardly ever post, but do a lot of lurking to learn.

Good luck. Have a nice T-Day holiday!

I like Egroups.com especially Nubian Talk, there are also all the others like LaMancha Talk, Togg Talk etc. just put goat into the search engine. There are also ones not for the faint of heart like Our Goat House and meat goat lists goat and sheep rancher. I have a hard time with the hard line "only herbal" lists which would rather lose a doe than use medication or prevent illness with vaccinations. Just to many new things that are in vogue right now!

Just a small warning on "my" Goat Shed on MSN, it is a very nice list that is monitored by myself, Bernice and 2 other gals, we will delete and ban anyone who is not nice.....period. The type of stuff that was allowed on dairygoats.com simply doesn't happen on our site. Come visit, look through our photo album and join if you want to chat with us, mostly about goats, though we all do coversate once in awhile! Vicki
