I lost the handle to my sausage grinder and don't care if I find it ( kitchen equip )

I was grinding beef today for patties and couldn't find the crank handle for the grinder. I noticed the chuck on the auger was hex shaped. A 9/16 socket and ratchet handle and I was grinding like a motorized one. Also , my wrist and shoulder didn't ache near as much. I may try to build a "T" handle to adapt to the ratchet.

Jay, Off the top of my head...Do you know what a "speed wrench" is?? If not, it's got a socket fitting at one end, a square "U" about 2/3rd of the way up and a handle at the end. Kinda like ( ----|__|-- ). Might be easier that a ratchet, and you could vary the speed, too. Speaking of speed.. how about an extension chucked up in the ol' variable speed drill?? Hmmm, better quit thinking now. Head hurts. Just a couple of random thoughts. John

The drill may be a good alternative. Main reason I don't like industrial motorized models is the cleaning problem, hand crank models so much easier to clean up. Ken, I'll throw that one at Lynn. Might work, all the rich guys around here are buying those saline fills at 3500 a pair.
