Natural Liquid Soap Book?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I saw a book advertised in a magazine called Natural Liquid Soap. It looks like something I would be interested in making, but the book is pretty expensive. I was wondering if anyone has the book or has seen a copy of it. I would like to know a little more about it before I order it. Hope someone can help. Mona Lea

What is your goal? To make liquid soap? If you can make solid soap you can make liquid soap. So save your money on the book.

This book is supposed to be a how-to on making shampoos, shower gels, bubble baths, etc..as well as liquid soaps. Sounds like good gifts if it is not too expensive and uses ingredients that are readily available. Mona Lea

Mona Lea check out this site that has some great recipes www.eaudrey.com. Kelly Reno has some great books out on this and simular subjects. Good gifts from the home by Kelly Reno ISBN: 0761525432. Your local library may even have some of her books. You could also try Making Natural Liquid Soaps:herbal shower gels/conditoning shampoos/moistuizing hand soaps by Catherine Failor, it's a paperback ISBN:1580172431. Good luck.

The Failor book is the one you want if you are making them from scratch, but you will be working with ingredients that are not commonly available.

The Reno books are all "buy unscented shampoo or liquid soap base, and add....". Nothing from scratch, soapwise.
