I am thouroghly confused on how to bring my idea into the light. I have read and researched numerous articles and VC sites but dont know how to get in touch with someone. I realize that a person should never cold-call a VC. I just dont know how to find the proper contacts. Please help

Justin, you didn't mention anything about having a business plan. 9/10th of the problem is creating a good business plan, 1/10th of the problem is finding someone to have a look at it whether that be a VC or an angel investor or some intermediary in between. Best bet is to review info at http://www.redherring.com and then start looking locally and work your way out.

I saw this today which seems like a good tool to use for someone who wants to find ways of preparing to present and/or find a VC.http://www.fastcompany.com/build/businessplan.html

Justin,I know of another CoF member who runs an organization that helps people build their ideas into business plans that are ready to be presented to qualified sources of funding. I believe that they help you make the contacts as well. Take a look at http://www.spincity.com
Good luck!
