rain rain go away!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

i am sorry to post this when so many need rain but we need it to stop! we have had so much rain and cool temps. that we are facing a winter of 1/2 done chores and realy crankey animals. last night or should i say very early am. we were outside soaked to the bone and freezing tring to catch calves and hogs. the solar fence gave out no sun to charge it and w/ so much rain the hog pen is mush and they figured out how to lift the posts out. now i am sitting here w/ a fire going wet wood of course trying to figure out what to do w/ 8 pups. the barn floor is damp and heat lamps just cant warm it enough. the best part the vet is coming today!

i sure wish we could blow our rain clouds over to who ever needs them. i realy realy hope we do not get this much snow this winter, we still cant get the footers to dry right for the new "barn". i wonder how calves will do in snow! the great pyr. will be fun they love to pull the kids in sleds. guess we need to make it through this so called fall first.

Hang in there Renee .I solved chasing my pig problem with the butcher ! Just think things can't get worse .Take a moment look at your beatiful children and what you have and it won't seem so bad .You could be wet and stink to high heavens like a skunk [its amazing how bad they smell when you shoot them ] , can you guess what I did last night ?

I guess we did! It's supposed to be 75 here today! I wish I could just smooth out the weather for all of you. It sure is weird!

Renee, I feel for you. The snow has melted here and I'm doing chores in the muck. There is alot still to be done. The weather is dryer now and so I'm hoping to finish winterizing this week. I hope it dries out soon for you.
