Snorkle stove

Does anyone have any experience with the wood fired Snorkle stove, (like the ones used in Snorkle hot tubs)? I know of one that is going to be coming up for sale and would like some input on them if anyone has any. Thanks

the army uses snorkel stoves for heating largeamout of water,, worked good and fast, though they use deisel as the fuel, no moving parts.

Marci, when we lived on Kodiak Island about 15 years ago, our friends bought a snorkle-stove hot tub. It worked well, and they enjoyed it for several years. I also heard that many of the outfitters in remote parts of the island had them installed in their base camps for the benefit of their clients. Just be sure to install a wood "gate" between the stove and where you sit because you don't want to accidentally bump into it when it's hot. Also, especially if you burn softwood, you'll probably need to clean out the flu regularly.

I have one of those hot tubs, and use it all the time. The stove works great, but it does seem to use quite a lot of wood. Is there anything specific you wanted to know?
