Me and my 20 friends want to watch the same MPEG VCD on their own PC. So, I copy the MPEG file to the server (with Windows 2000 Server software) and share the file. Then at the same time all users open the same file. Pitty, after 6 users open the same MPEG file and at the same time, the movie becomes too slow.

I want to know if there were a software that act as multimedia sharing. In this case, what should I do to get more users access the same MPEG on server. Your advice is much appreciated. Thank you very much.

That sounds about right. VCD is 1.3Mb/s * 6 = 7.8 Mb/s Unless everyone is viewing the exact same spot you will overload the drive or the network.

Unfortunatly this stuff is still in development. Here is one link I tuned up, but it's for linux.
