Vacuum sealer- Which brand is best?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I know several of you have vacuum sealers and I am considering investing in one. I would love your input on what's available and what you think of them. Thanks.

I have a Foodsaver, manufactured by a company called Tilia. I did not buy this, but was given it by a relative several years ago. I really love it, and seal all kinds of foods with it. It also has an attachment for sealing mason-type jars, which is good for things like grains but not too good for flour. The bags are kind of expensive, I usually order them from Sportsmens Guide. If you seal a bag carefully and open it by cutting along right under the seal, you can wash and reuse the bags for sealing something else. I'd like to find some other source for the bags.
