Crock Pot Guts

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Does anyone know if the inside of a crock pot- the ceramic (?) "pot" part, is oven proof at higher temps, like 350-400 degrees?

Didn't want to experiment and have the sucker blow up on me and lose the food.

Thanks.

In a single word.... nope. Tried it, lost the food. You were wise to ask first. Maybe others have done it with success, but not I. Then tried to glue the pieces together, but it has never been the same.

Them things are for the countertop, not the oven. I took the guts out of mine and put in the oven at 350, turned out like a stephen king story turned into a spielberg movie.

Thanks for the heads up, folks. Guess I have a new utensil holder, huh?
