Flowers Detail

greenspun.com : LUSENET : General Photo Critique : One Thread

Hello all,

I'm still getting started with photography in general, only have caught serious interest in it in the past few months. I took this photo of flowers one sunny day on a walk through my neighberhood. The reason I'm posting here is because I think this is one of my better photos, but I think that I still could probably improve it and would love to hear some suggestions from more experienced and accomplished photographers.

The link to my image is: http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo.tcl?photo_id=72567

Thank you,

Dominik Rabiej

I see potential there. The depth of field is nice. I like the out of focus bright green leaves behind the yellow, but the dead heads are a great distraction. I would have tried to fold them down or cut them off. You would have been left with a distinct foreground element swimming before the green leaves.
The seed pods on the right are also a distracting element. Those would be easy to remove with a crop. How old is the image? Can you go back and try again?
