Statistically true for now but perhaps not for long.

Especially with the Bank of Tokyo getting off 0% loans I think a lot more Asians will be LONG not SHORT soon. The predictable rise in yen will likely to make westerners SHORT.

A friend of mine went to Japan a few years back. This woman is about your height, Patricia. [She could be taller, but I'm almost 5'9", so anyone shorter than 5'6" is SHORT to me.] She has the typical size 5 or thereabouts shoe size that goes along with short stature. She said people didn't stop commenting on how tall she was and how big her feet were. I haven't yet been to Japan, but I figure they'd look up at me and schedule a match with Godzilla. Who else in Japan could fill Godzilla's footprints?

Not exactly but very close. Some are purple, some are bronze and some are half yellow [the female really has no black]. Only the redwings are here in the summer. The others have gone to Canada [I told it is because of the better health care system] :^)

One of my favorite things. Blue & iridescent colors in birds are never produced by pigments, they are 'structural colors'. The blues are produced by minute particles in the feather that are smaller than the wavelength of red light. They only reflect the blue part of the color spectrum back to our eyes. Next time you find a jay feather hold it up and look through it, you'll see only grey.

I have this step ladder that I move from room to room in the house so I can reach the shelves in the closets, etc. (about $10 at Home Depot [g]). It's a scream watching me get into my SO's truck. I'm grateful it's not one of those "monster trucks". I'd need a fire-engine ladder :-)

Pat, yeah I 'had' one of those, but I also have a teenager who thinks its terribly funny to hide things in his room. Hell for all I know it could be buried under his bed.

Perhaps he's hoping I fall so he can get his inheritance soon? :-)
