I deworm my Mammoth donkey, Hampshire hog and Dexter steer every other month with an equine paste dewormer with the vet's approval. I alternate 3 different chemicals (Ivermectin, Pyrantel Pamoate, and one of the 'zoles'). I've been deworming the steer like this since he was 2 months. He's now 9 years.

When I moved to Texas from another state, the vet here had me switch one of the dewormers to different months since that was when a certain parasite was prevalent here for the steer.

Patty, There is no problem doing that, they give Ivermectin injectible and pour-on to cattle. so paste should make no difference except that I think it is easier to use. How is your mother-in-law doing? And how is your husband doing so far? Men have a hard time expressing their grief, sometimes they use anger instead of tears(more manly), I think about him and you and the children, and hope you are all doing okay. karen
