Wonderful farm diary from 1871

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I was cruising around looking for diaries on the Revolutionary war after my experience with The Patriot, and I found this wonderful history website. In it I found a diary of a farmer from 1871, so I thought I'd share the URL. http://www.longwood.k12.ny.us/history/index.htm I hope you all enjoy this as much as I did.

For links to other historical journals go to: http://journals.about.com/arts/journals/msubmenu4.htm

I love reading first hand accounts. Even though they are biased as to that one person's view, as are all journals, they are still written by someone in that time period, with that cultural and period upbringing and thought process.

I asked in another thread for links to historical cooking websites, but have as yet not received any answers. Boo hoo!

Amber, I typed in Little Bit's and R's addresses because I wanted to mark them as favorites for later exploration and they came up fine for me. Of course, I did add the 3w's on R's. Maybe your computer was just having a bad day.
