Living on a Few Acres - USDA Yearbook

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

See if your local library has or can get a loaner copy of "Living on a Few Acres." It is the USDA Yearbook for 1978. 432 pages. It contains probably a hundred or so independent articles.

Good one Ken, I'd forgotten about it. I'll add a few comments. Many libraries do not circulate the USDA Yearbooks. Some don't even shelve them. So ask at your library if you don't see them.

The articles are brief-sometimes too brief. But especially if you're a newbie trying to get to the country, you'll find a lot of things to think about. It is also good if you've never purchased a home or land before. The articles are short, but will still give you some good pointers that a conventional house buying book wouldn't have. Gerbil
