Flashpix seems nice - philg's demos made me interested in adding Flashpix content to my site (mainly scans of documents, some photos). This content is by no means the core of my site, and as such isn't something I would spend any serious money to have - is Flashpix for me? All the web-based information appears to be about 2-3 years old. It seems to be about the most proprietry image format going...

If it isn't what do other people in this situation use? I would imagine there's an open source alternative.
