Easter morning

Ok, it has been a long time since I thought I had an image that was worth posting.

If anyone is still reading these, please tell me what you think.

too dark and brooding for a kid at play.

I think the image would be more in keeping with the subject if you had another light source directed from the (photographers) lower left to fill in some of the dark shadows on his face. Perhaps simply using some fill flash would do the trick, or try having an assistant hold up a white card to reflect some of that window light back onto the dark-side of the subjects face.

I have to disagree with Bill... I think this photo is fine 'dark'. To me the egg and the image of the jagged (broken?) toy on the table combine with the shadows to create the feeling of danger. Now, I know that showing a child in danger is risky - in this case it seems to be symbolic more than actual.

It isn't a 'nice' photo - but it seems to have a strong message, at a certain level.

Enigmatic, puzzled, exploring.. but danger.. no...the moment before pleasure or disapointment. The cruciform in the left background and the 'easter' title encourage numerous interpretations. Thoughtful.
