Yes,you can AI hogs. It is a whole lot easier than AI-ing goats! My friend tried it for the first time last fall on two sows and they both took, and she says that the piglets are some of the best sge's ever had.

I have read that razorbacks are a lot more agressive than other pigs. Get as much information as you can before you perchase. I'd hate to hear that you'd been injured. annette

Just wondering what breed of pig a razorback is? I raised pigs for about 10 years and never heard of that breed. Always thought it was a generic name for feral pigs....................Jay

Read "Ol' Yeller" again for an idea of thier temperment. When time and I were young, hog hunting in Fl was done & brother, you'd better keep it together. Yep, they'll run, and you always had a serious escape route, just in case they didn't. You have no idea, until you've seen it, how quick & deadly those tusks can be. With all the really nice pig breeds, can't figure out why you'd want a worn out VW when you could get a nice BMW. Best of luck in whatever you decide...Kt, the reluctant temporary urbanite...

I hog hunt once in a while. The best pig to breed and sell are the Russian wild pigs..they're pure blooded and Canadian farms breed them and sell them compared to the ones in the U.S. which can often be mixed blood pigs. They're nasty though! The "Old Yeller" dog is actually a blackmouth cur..I have one that I've been trying to find a home for because I'm moving to the big city and can't find him a home. He's housebroken and knows only one command because he's like Forrest Gump..learns slow but remembers what he's taught..not good with chickens btw. I live in Texas if you would like to see him please let me know..I also have a pureblood catahoula leopard which are interesting dogs..you can see the wild pigs being hunted by those breeds at www.baydog.com....
