Noticed that the Dutch Windmill is has now been turning every day since March 24. It is beautifully restored, and a jewel to the Golden Gate Park. What about that rotten tooth called Murphy's Windmill? In the 1900s, it actually seemed to have been better kept up than the Dutch, and has a beautiful house attached to it for the keeper. Is there a schedule for restauration, and who is in charge?

I don't know the answer to that question exactly, but a few months ago I happened to talk to the elderly lady living at the house next to the Murphy Windmill, and she said she hopes it will happen next year, but it's a question of money (of course). Maybe Tim Lillyquist at Friends of Parks & Rec would have more information.
By the way, to see Murphy Windmill in all its original glory, rent Charlie Chaplin's "A Jitney Elopement" (1915). Pictures from it are at http://www.norcalmovies.com/AJitneyElopement/

Visit: http://www.goldengateparkwindmills.org/ The full scoop is there, the turret is undergoing repairs in Holland as I write this, should hopefully be renovated by the end of next year.
