Question for Christians

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TB2K spinoff uncensored : One Thread

As of today, if the whole earth was suddenly blown to smithereens by an incoming meteor, in your opinion what percent of the world's population would make it to Heaven and what percent would get sent to Hell?

-- Asker (@ .), April 15, 2000

Answers

That's only for God and his Son to know, not us.

-- Flash (flash@flash.hq), April 15, 2000.

I think everyone will go to Heaven.

People who were bad on Earth will go into God's Rehab Program. People like Hitler might be in rehab for thousands of years. People like Elian's great uncle Lazaro might be in rehab for only a few weeks.

Think of it in terms of food. In Heaven, you get steak and lobster. In the Rehab Program, you get elementary school lunch food.

Asker:

Subject: Question for Christians

It depends a whole lot on what you mean by the term Christians

Now-a-days, that means different things to different people.

For god so loved the world he sent his only begotten son that whosover believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

Don't believe in hell, and my heaven is right here on earth.

-- gilda (jess@listbot.com), April 15, 2000.

You are all in for a rude awakening, the Bible says "the way to paradise is a narrow way {few will make it proportionately}, the way to perdition is wide." Unfortunately most miss the truth and go to hell of their own free will. The decision is totally ours to accept the Lord Jesus and his blood covenent. Nothing that we do other than accept him is to any avail.

-- rowd morgan (morgab77@home.com), April 15, 2000.

rowd:

The conclusion depends a whole lot on if you have spent the last 40 y of study determining what that means or if you just parrot it. Makes a difference. Think about it.

Best wishes,,,,

I'm with you, Gilda.

Our Earth is nice, and the USA is Heavenly. Mostly nice people, mostly nice animals, beautiful mountains and oceans and birds and flowers. Very gruntling.

If God controls everything, why would he destroy the entire Earth and all that live here?

-- Ra (tion@l.1), April 15, 2000.

Ra, It's called free will. Those left on earth when it is irrevocably destroyed will so choose. Those on the other hand who have chosen the Lord will be "removed" by then through the rapture and the great tribulation culminating in armageddon. There are different dispensations{time periods/frames},however there are only 2 choices. As the Lord Jesus said,"You are either for Me or against me." There is no middle ground.

-- rowd (morgan77@home.com), April 15, 2000.

rowd said:

Jesus said it better than any of us ever could have.

All these damn BIFFYs coming over here with their new handles are going to roast and sizzle.

Hey, you wanted me back.

Ra said;

God will be putting things back to the way things were around here on Earth prior to the big flood. In doing so, the mountains will be flatened out, the water barrier (firmament above) will be replaced, etc. for the 1,000 year reign of Jesus.

blessings...

I believe in reincarnation. If the world gets blown up where will I go? Should I be prepping for it now? Just curious...

-- Uncle Bob (unclb0b@aol.com), April 15, 2000.

Uncle Bob said;

"I believe in reincarnation. If the world gets blown up where will I go?"

Well Uncle Bob, if you don't believe in Jesus Christ you will be going to Hell.

"Should I be prepping for it now?"

If that is your choice for eternity, ...probably a good idea.

"Just curious..."

Just telling...

-- I believe in Him (Jesus is King@Kingdom.come), April 15, 2000.

Some people are just way too serious...I Believe in Joking Around@a.lot...so don't get your panties twisted about what I post...geez

-- Uncle Bob (unclb0b@aol.com), April 15, 2000.

Being good or bad has absolutely nothing to do with where you spend eternity. It is all dependant on accepting Jesus as the son of God and as your' personnal Saviour. Nothing other than this can gain a man access into Heaven. It's in the Bible. If Ted Bundy really accepted Jesus, guess where he is right now? Yep in Heaven. Jesus paid for ALL our sins.

-- rowd (morgan77@home.com), April 15, 2000.

I'd say 5-20% heaven at the maximum, rest are on the highway to hell. Remember the verse about how narrow the pathway is? Jesus said "I am the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father but by me." Even the supposely religious won't make it, including those who do miracles and are active in church work. It's what's in your heart. Being a hearer and a doer of the Word (Bible).

-- Shirley Fetherolf (fether@ipa.net), April 15, 2000.

I think you are right on Shirley, 5-20% is probably generous at that. Most will follow religion and all other various nonsense, including pantheism, government, greed, self, secular humanism et al. Man just seems to keep on getting it all wrong, part of the free will issue. To those who study and accept eschatology all that is now happening is expected and almost welcome. It means we are very close, He is even at the door.

-- rowd (morgan77@home.com), April 15, 2000.

"Those on the other hand who have chosen the Lord will be "removed" by then through the rapture..." -- rowd

Then why don't you guys rapture the hell out of here already? Those of us who have to live here need to get started repairing the damage caused by 2000 years of your extraterrestrial belief system.

-- (Hallyx@aol.com), April 15, 2000.

Based on the est of Shirley & rowd my math tells me that in the US we have 13,500,000 going to Heaven and 263,150,000 going to Hell. Throughout the world it's Heaven 300 million and Hell 5 billion 700 million.

-- John12:18 (Wearenotthejudge@bible.ed), April 15, 2000.

27% are going to heaven. 64% going to hell. 9% not sure. Range of error 3-4%.

-- brock gannon (brockgannon@gnc.net), April 16, 2000.

Heaven and Hell truly exist only on earth. After that there is only the Universe and God and our Souls made one. It is a place without judgement or fear or want. This should not be an excuse to misbehave horribly whilst here, however. Just my two cents. Slam me if you want.

-- Gia (laureltree7@hotmail.com), April 16, 2000.

Hey there all you religious nuts. Take your vengeful God and shove it up your ass. Your judgements and vitriol are not appreciated-who the FUCK are you to tell people what to believe, and then condemn them to hell like you were God yourself? You are SICK SICK SICK-get out of the cult now. Jesus was a beautiful soul, who would never have gone around doing anything but giving love-you christian zealots need to take your preaching somewhere else. GOd's love is UNCONDITIONAL-got that? Everyone wins-When you realize hitler is in "heaven" then you understand tha nature of God.

Don't any of you idiots read the history of pre-christian cultures? Don't you know that the flood myth and the myth of paradise pre-date your world view by thousands of years? That christianity is basically a knock-off of many other religions?? SAVEMESAVEMESAVEMESAVEMESAVEME HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

-- FutureShock (gray@matter.think), April 16, 2000.

Future Shock- Did you read Conversations with God? I read book 1 and 2 last year. I've just started book 3. It has completely turned my world around. I seriously consider this to be His word and it has removed alot of fear in my life. I would recommend it to everyone. THIS IS A DOGMA-FREE PRODUCT. Enjoy.

-- Gia (laureltree7@hotmail.com), April 16, 2000.

The resurrection of Jesus gives us an endless hope

Not a hopeless end.

Uh, would that be before the rapture or after??? Give me a break...

The Dog

-- The Dog (dogdesert@hotmail.com), April 16, 2000.

i wonder myself. makes me so sad when i think of how awful hell will be without any of the attributes belonging to god. plus without god.

i do know from what it says at the end of the bible, that when TSHTF and the antichrist is revealed--only 1/3 of israel will survive. the rest will be killed.

-- tt (cuddluppy@aol.com), April 16, 2000.

Gia:

Yes. I read all three books. So my answer to the original question is 100% will go to heaven.

To all those I cursed at last night, I apologize for the manner in which I disagree; but I still vehemently disagree.

-- FutureShock (gray@matter.think), April 16, 2000.

Excuse me Futureshock....everyone on earth will be going to heaven? hmmm

And what of when Jesus was angry and overtuned the money-changers tables in the temple?
