Assuming that you mean Ohio, Mechanicsburg is a very small place, 1/2 way northeast of Dayton and Northwest of Columbus.

What are your interests? Dayton boasts the Air Force Museum, which is full of all manner of aircraft, including a Stealth Bomber. Columbus boasts the huge, newly remodeled COSI (Center of Science and Industry), which is an all-day event for both adults and children. If you're into malls, there's Fairfield Commons in Dayton and the new Easton Mall in Columbus (Huge Barnes & Noble, plus a Planet Hollywood).

Amish country (Holmes and Wooster Counties) are about 90 minutes northeast of Columbus. This is the off-season, but there are a few things to see -- Heine's Cheese Factory in Millersburg is open year- around.

Current temps are running 50s daytime down to 30s nights. No snow predicted in Central Ohio this week. Rain predicted for Saturday.

The Columbus paper is the Columbus Dispatch at www.dispatch.com

Let me know if I can be of further help.

Corrections: that's Wayne County (Wooster is a city) and Heini's Cheese in Berlin. That's what I get for typing late at night. Here's the url for the main state of ohio web site. This is the "discovery" section. I won't attempt a hot link.

I believe my destination to be Mechanicsburg, Pa. Fer God's sake, it is hard for one human to keep it straight( one flight after another). Yes, Pa, is where I am destined, for this oddsey. Thank you, for your help.

You must check and see if there are any sprint races going on. I understand that some racetracks go 4 -6 days a week, and those cars are really fast. If you like racing, this is a great thing to do in this town....... Just check with the chamber of commerce to find out about where and when.

Kb8,

There's also the Civil War re-enactment that Mechanicsburg (Ohio) usually does every summer too. It's also not *that* far away from Ohio Caverns or Macocheek Castle...

Deb, thanks! I wondered where that was located. It's on my list of stuff to do, post Hamvention! (Dayton, Hara Arena May 19 - 21 link.

Sorry, Regret to resort: don't know anything about Mechanicsburg, PA, but it doesn't surprise me that there is one. PA Engineer over at the TB 20OO forum on the EZboard would probably know things about that area. I think the main Amish settlement is in Becks County, but I've never been east of Pittsburgh. (Yes, I know. It's on the "list")

Well there's not much goin' on this month but if you're hangin' around for a bit the Farmer's Market opens April 24th and there's something at the library May 5th from 5-7.
