"Walt Disney World" china?greenspun.com : LUSENET : The Exchange: A Forum for Antiques and The Arts : One Thread |
I have an antique disney plate made by this company. It once was my grandmothers. Its probably about 80 years or older. It has the "old" MICKEY MOUSE & HORSE COLLAR hand painted in the three sections. If anyone has any information about this i would really appreciate it. Stamped on the back is " MADE BY PERMISSION OF WALT DISNEY WORLD"

Hi Eliza, what you have is not Antique, " Walt Disney World" did not open until 1971, the property for the theme park was not even purchased until 1965.

Dear Mike,Thank you for answering my question, but I made an error about the printing on the back of this plate. The printing is as follows: S.C.00. PATRIOT CHINA MFGD BY PERMISSION WALT DISNEY ENTERPRISES My mother says the plate was her mothers before her, and also the Mickey Mouse & Horse Collar are the very "old" ones. Ihave talked to other antique dealers and no one has heard of a china company by this name. Any more information that you could give me would be very appreciated. Thank You. Eliza

Hi Eliza, I'm suprised the dealers didn't know of Patriot china, they produced quite a number of Disney items ( there are 29842 on ebay today ;~) starting in the 1930's. Any of the early Disney items bring good prices and there are price guides available online that list just about everything produced.
