Aids in africa

greenspun.com : LUSENET : World Woman News Nursery : One Thread

The South African government has refused to issue anti AIDS drug AZT to expectant mothers or rape victims. They say they doubt if it really prevents infection or reducing the likelihood of transmission in the womb. Is that true, is it just that AZT costs too much? US Vice President Al Gore and Prime Minister Tony Blair have been in South Africa recently talking about AIDS. Will any of these leaders fund a solution?
