Encad Novajet 50

I get an error carriage axis almost everytime I try to print for about 5 times before I can finally get it to print. Then I can only print 34" maximum is there a fix for this?

1. are you using the pro 50 driver not the pro 36? 2. clean rail with rubbing alchool. 3. clean glass rule maybe sonething on it at 34 inches... 4. have pm done by encad rep new bushings and such $350 just had done on 1 of our pro 50s helped alot

Does it crash in different places on the shaft? If so, it's bushings

You can order new bushing yourself for about $12.00, I've had to replace them in all my Encad about every 6 months

You need to go the encad website . Go to the section. Go to the secion. Select . Select . This will fully explain the solution.

Even though the manual says clean the bar with alcohol you should not. You should clean the ends of the bar and around the bushings only. The bushings pop out so you can clean the inside of the bushings. You may need a Preventative Maintenance Kit. More than likely you need to clean the encoder strip. The Encoder strip provides an optical solution for the print head to tell it where it is across your printer. If it is dirty the print head will not know where it is and you will get a Carriage access error.
