Where or whom might I go to find out about the value of historic pictures I have of the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. Is there a list of collectors that I might be able to get.

Please try the auction house of Butterfield & Butterfield, photographs dept., or the firm of Pacific Book Auction Galleries, both in San Francisco, Calif., for information on the photographs' origins and values. You may email me at the address given for their numbers. These firms may be able to give you a quick estimate range over the phone, but of course the specialists will want to see them to determine their values. Items relating to the San Francisco earthquake are sometimes of great importance to a variety of people besides private collectors, like historians, scientists, museums, historical societies, etc. So please don't limit your search for their value to just the auction houses either. Good luck!!
