The rights to create John Rogers statues, initially manufactured from 1859-92, were sold in 1893. The figures were then made by the Rogers Statuette Company. Original statues are bronze, but countless copies of painted plaster are out there as well, of some 80 kinds of figures. Since it is difficult to know the dimensions of your piece, or whether it is bronze, or signed, etc., it is difficult to pinpoint any kind of value. "Kovels' Antiques & Collectibles Price List" (1998, Three Rivers Press, Crown Publishers, 201 East 50th Street, New York, N.Y., 10022) gives the range of these pieces as $230 to $900.
