FORUM READERS - GET REAL WITH THIS C4l GROUP

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

The military doesn't known what is going to happen, the TBTB do not known what is going to happen. Our government does not know what is going to happen. Most of us on this forum have some idea of what might happen. We've done what we need to do. That was to prepare. Don't let this group pull your chain. That post didn't have anything in it that you didn't already know.

Answers

Would love to hear your comments. This situation we find ourselves heading into is not a game. We need to use our own intelligence, and not hang on to ever word some group would tell us.

-- thinkIcan (thinkIcan@make.it), December 24, 1999.

Here's an analysis of c4i's predictions so far:

c4i may be for real, but since they gave us some very specific info about how "good" they are in their first post, lets see how they have panned out so far.

Their first post was: Why Paul Milne is a Polly and they made the following predictions or claims and I have put the results of each in square brackets.

The way I see it there were 21 predictions. Of these: 17 we can't pass judgement on because y2k has not happened yet, 1 was correct, 1 was incorrect, and on 2 they changed their tune and reversed their position. So this is not be statistically valid yet, however it tends to show that for 4 of the predictions that we can pass an opinion as to their accurace, only 1 is likely to be correct. So we can begin to make our own forecast about:

"We have an 89.3% rate of our forecasts coming true and this is for events without a definitive date [this is what we are testing here]."

Here are their initial predictions for reference:

1. Because we the government, and in particular him the CINC, has done nothing public other than preach "the winter storm" the country cannot and will not prepare in a timely fashion. [correct]. We will go 10 [can't say yet]. The CINC is in deep denial, and still believes with the VCINC that Gates will pull a rabbit out of his hat.[only an opinion that can never be verified. So my opinon - CINC is devious and as someone else pointed out today - does nothing without a plan]

2. Initial power outages will be 1-2 weeks in the South and Midwest [can't say yet]. The Northeast will experience 3-4 week outages, the West and Southwest 2-3 weeks [can't say yet]. We're not talking brownouts [can't say yet].

3. Dee Cee will be an armed camp starting 15 Dec 99 [incorrect]. There are 120 major cities within the U.S. There are approximately 2.25 million troops; this includes the NG and Reserves. The cities will be chaotic at best and the troops will not be sent in, they will be used to cordon off areas of unrest [can't say yet]. Isolate the fire.

4. The following industries will be nationalized: Power, Fuel, Transportation, Agriculture (not individual farms), Chemical, Mining, Pharmaceuticals, Hospitals, and Communications [can't say yet]. There will be a bank holiday before the rollover -date determined by the people [can't say yet].

5. Governors will institute Martial Law for heavily populated areas [now they say "No ML before or probably after."]. The CINC will usurp the Governors and declare national Martial Law to restrict interstate travel and to mobilize the work force [now they say "No ML before or probably after."]. The CINC's action will be too much for many in both the military and private sector. The "Militia" groups will mobilize [can't say yet].

6. The Congress will activate the inactive Militia "all able bodied males between the ages of 17 and 45" will report to designated staging and training areas, the hope is to quell dissent and re-establish a Constitutional methodology to the event [can't say yet]. The "Militia" actually a pseudo-militia, they have no Constitutional standing, they don't fall under the discipline prescribed by Congress (Art I, Sec 8, Clauses 15 & 16) will balk [can't say yet]. Open insurrection ensues [can't say yet].

7. Famine and disease will breakout in the parts of the cities not under Martial Law [can't say yet]. Fighting is widespread for strategic transportation hubs, fuel depots, armories, and granaries. More service members desert or join the militia [can't say yet]. Class warfare ensues [can't say yet].

8. Several missile launch complexes are taken [can't say yet]. Negotiation with Dee Cee begins [can't say yet]. NORAD falls via an insider [can't say yet]. Dee Cee capitulates [and can cows fly].

There is no definitive timeline other than the panic will ensue Sept-Oct timeframe [incorrect].

Revision on the statistics:

The way I see it there were 22 predictions. Of these: 17 we can't pass judgement on because y2k has not happened yet, 1 was correct, 2 were incorrect, and on 2 they changed their tune and reversed their position. So this is not be statistically valid yet, however it tends to show that for 5 of the predictions that we can pass an opinion as to their accurace, only 1 is likely to be correct.

-- Interested Spectator (is@the_ring.side), December 24, 1999.

I don't think we can say yet even about that one. There are some indications that a majority in the US are buying a couple of days worth of food more than normal. It may be sufficient, for all we know.

-- Flint (flintc@mindspring.com), December 24, 1999.

I wrote this on another post, but think it is ok to repost it here (?)

If anyone has anything to add?

One week look-aheads, if they are going to fail, will fail one week before the first. Being a holiday problems with this may not be found until Monday or even after the new year in places that close down for Christmas through New Years as a normal part of vacation (such as a large part of Boeing and schools).

Take a deep breath and stay alert.... we are a day away from the beginning of knowing the reality of the situation. kinda like the beginning of labor, its happening now and there is no putting it off until later! When it is over, no matter the outcome, our lives will never be the same again! At the very least, it is the beginning of a new Century!

Isaac Asimov wanted to live to see the year 2000, unfortunately he did not, My Father, born in 1920, has wanted the same thing. Baring some unforeseen circumstance, he will make it.

I keep telling him that with nano technology being developed right now, he could possibly make it to the next one.

Now is the time for EVERYONE to realize is that it is time to stop aposing each other and ride this out together, we in America are lucky to live in the freest country in the world, no matter it's faults. We, at least, are free to make mistakes. Just as each person here has been free to decide for themselves what and how much they have prepared for.

The freedom of choice in their manner of preparations is the same as their freedom to choose their form of religion.

What was that old rule about what the three things you do not discuss in a party or family get-together? Don't talk about politics, religion and I forget the third. Lately there has been a fourth, Y2K.

It will not do anyone of us one bit of good if we continue to fight each other now, especially as stressful as living through the "happening" which, for all intents and purposes, has started. We have a common enemy, Potential Y2K failures. Do not take your emotions (fear, anger etc.) out on the wrong entity. Just like getting upset at work and going home and taking it out on your spouse, kids or dog is wrong, but tends to happen, don't do the same about Y2K and let the stress take it out on them or even those you perceive as your enemies. Now is the time to exersize your self control and you will survive whatever happens. Even if little or nothing happens, if you do not use self control and let it "get to you" you could do something destructive which you will regret later.

Use "stress control" measures, like have a puzzle that you go to in moments of overwhelming stress, to allow your mind to back down from the chemicals that will be inundating it. Whatever works for you. And remember, everyone else, to one degree or another will be going through what you are and might not be able to handle it so do not bait them because they may "blow". This is not the time to create more problems than we will have to experience.

Remember extreme stress can cause lack of sleep and lack of sleep causes your mind to experience sleep deprivation which does not allow you to think clearly. Think about what you are doing and why, especially if you know it is out of character for you.

-- Cherri (sams@brigadoon.com), December 24, 1999.

My guess is that "c4i" is part of some of the psychological research being conducted using the data gathered from this forum. The archives will no doubt be analyzed by psychologists at M.I.T. for years to come, statistics will be generated, hypotheses and conclusions will be reported, and perhaps even books written with some of our names in them (just another reason I use a fictitous persona). There is a lot of valuable data on this forum that they have gathered at almost no cost, certainly a lot less expensive than most mind control research. Some of the pollies and trolls and antagonists were probably intentionally introduced into the discussions to provoke reactions for further analysis.

Unless Y2K is an intricately planned conspiracy on a global scale, "c4i" could not possibly know what will happen anymore than we do. It isn't wise to draw conclusions from what someone else says unless you know it to be true yourself, and if you already know what is true, then you don't need to ask. The best way to be prepared is to admit that we know nothing about what will happen, and just follow our instincts.

Note to board: Can anyone take a stab at the clandestine bantering that shadows c4i's posts? Tonight I am puzzled by the dog/rabbit/cat/cheetah etc.

I'm still holding to my prediction of no ml before rollover. Troops in NYC, DC, Seattle, SF and a few other places but no travel restrictions or other obvious restrictions. Agree? Disagree?

-- BigDog (BigDog@duffer.com), December 23, 1999.

Hokie----> If no ml, then what troops?

Hamster, One our sources says the wayward terrorist/bomber in Seattle was a decoy/ruse/excuse. Think about it, what was the news coverage like after the World Trade Center and OKC bombings -tight lip. Now we have full disclosure, since when was this the SOP for this Gov and this Admin.

-- c4i (c4ixxx@hotmail.com), December 23, 1999.

Hokie----> excuse for what? decoy for what? ruse for what?

No ML before or probably after. More like something big happens to rally the populace around Mom, Flag, Apple Pie and Bill. Then a voluntary restriction for the good of the effort. Think bit by bit by bit. Grid is a complete unknown, too many Big Manufacturers are planning to unplug, if they do not coordinate, (Correct us if we are wrong) but it was explained to us that since energey is neither created nor destroyed and there is a definite drop in demand the power has to go somewhere and we understand it would burn up the transmission lines. Robert Cooke are you out there?

Stockmarket, we do not own any stock and have not for over a year, however we are poised to jump in after the crash. The exuberance, maybe a case of ergot rot in the flour. Here are a couple of military Y2K project sites that show the kind of research they are conducting. I think that "c4i" is probably related to these or a similar operation that is trying to get an idea of how we react to different possible Y2K scenarios, and also they may be trying to "adjust our attitudes" by telling us that they have the answers to how things are going to go down.

This project description will make you feel like you have been a guinea pig in an experiment on this forum and that they have been observing us all along. Because of the large participation, this forum is probably one of their best sources of research information on the entire Internet. I think the "c4i" thread last night was their final check to see where we stand immediately before the occurrence of the main event, but they will probably continue to observe our behavior as long as the forum is still going.

Check this out

LOL Andy!! Seems like we SHOULD get paid for all of the time and energy we've put into this. The sad thing is that WE are the ones who are paying THEM to spy on us.

It's amazing that you mentioned that though, because I was just reading this a few minutes ago, taken directly from their page at the last link I posted above...

"Bottom line of Naval War College effort:

...In short, while we're not interested in unduly hyping the Y2K situation, we are interested in exploring the "dark side" potentials because, frankly, that's what we get paid to do as a research organization that serves the U.S. military."

Obviously, I'm not Robert Cooke, but this was an interesting ignorant remark for a group of super beings. One way power delivery is adjusted up here in the great northwest is by taking turbines on and off line. I'm not sure if turbine output is vaiable or not. We have large aluminum plants up here which use massive amounts of electricity. The load can vary greatly depending on the production schudules of the plants.

Gary--Obviously you're a polly--thats okay--but don't blame Ed Yourdon for a damn thing. His expertise is in cobol/mainframe environment and he's done a good job of informing us of the problems inherent in that environment. I do concur wholeheartedly with your assesment of c4i as a preposterously unqualified head-f**k artist. The statements made about the grid are utterly absurd. Technically on the level of a 9 year old explaining nuclear fission.

Sorry about the cynicysm but I have to add by 2c worth. I personally don't buy the c4i bit. With a dot.mil addy and the possibility of feds watching this site anyway ? Anyone projecting themselves as c4i with alleged restricted information (provided they were legit) would have to realize that they can be had in no time by the feds if they were giving ANY information that wasn't supposed to be publicized anyway.

The first thing I noticed is the way the questions were answered. Nothing definite, sometimes with another question, sometimes "classified" and can't say, etc. The same manner that a cheap psychic uses to make mega bucks from those who DGI.

Of course you are free to form your own opinion, but my opinion is as follows; "This thread backed up like the phonelines of 1-800-psy-chic on TV. You have no more definitive answers now than you did before. You'll get as much information from the horoscope section in your local paper.

Just to throw my two cents into the pot...I don't think we will ever know if c4i is who they claim to be, or a janitor with late-night access to a dot mil IP. Or, something else entirely. It seems reasonable to me to welcome them to post here unassaulted, and to leave it to the forum's able analysts to debunk or verify after the fact. c4i stated that they will be joining the forum again on December 28. If someone has a few informed questions of them that would help to verify credentials, or lack of them, I think a few such questions would be appropriate. However, I would whole-heartedly support the sysops moderating the thread and deleting all pointless flames, such as some of the ones that occurred last night.

-- (RUOK@yesiam.com), December 24, 1999.

I buy it totally, but it's an intelligence group, not omniscient. These are best informed guesses and sound accurate. No martial law until later, no pre-roll show of force, but military preps being rolled into place. Cheap gasoline will be a thing of the past. A depression, yes...

Best case.

Heh, well, it has been a fun distraction no doubt! Nice of those c4i guys to order HAARP to make it snow here to get my mind on Christmas and off exposing them!.. (okay, for anyone down on their daily caffeine intake, that was a joke).

Seemed to me there was more bantering then new info passed on, which is disappointing cause I don't have a clue what the hell it was about. But I like puzzles, so it is fun to tinker.

Liechtenstein is European nobility, can be synonomous with faction 1 New World Order type folks. Their prince has been behind the Euro loss of sovereignty. Huge anonymous bank, can be equiv to funding, money laundering....

As far as them "experimenting" with us...I can speak as an expert here. I did 3 years post grad research at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine following my Masters, and can tell you that if that thread was some controlled stimuli to just "measure effects" then c4i are significantly more incompetent at social research than they are at technology.

Your analysis is one I will continue to look forward to following any further c4i postings. Thanks for your efforts. BTW, my guess about cheetah is "Company C", as used in the context of troop movement. I have no military background whatsoever, so it's just a SWAG.

I also think that some of the banter was just that, banter. That includes the cat, football predictions, and scotch. Of course, I could be wrong.

Scotch = Scottish as in North Sea oil production?

Lichtenstien = representing European banking centers?

St Louis, Dallas, Indianapolis = Toast?
