The leaning tower, Pisa, Italy

The world-famous leaning tower in Pisa, lurking around the corner of the Duomo. Taken in October 1999 using a Canon EOS 500N, 28-80mm zoom and polarizing filter. I spent about a quarter of an hour trying to find a new perspective on the tower, and this came out as my favorite. -- Alex

Very nicely done. Exposure seems right on. This is a very original composition. I do wish that I could see a bit more of the leaning tower and that you were just a touch closer. Very good!

If you want to see more of the leaning tower, I do have two more images of it in my Tuscany 1999 gallery... 8-) Getting the exposure right isn't exactly rocket science with the 500N, at least not on a sunny afternoon. About moving closer to the tower: I would have had to point the camera more upwards, and I don't have a shift lens for perspective correction. -- Alex

I agree with Joe - I'd like to see about 1/2 as much of the foreground building, and about 1/2 again more of the tower. Really good job, though, on trying (pretty successfully) to find a new view of an overdone subject.
