I'm writing a report for an assignment at college to convince a National Governing Body (F.A.- Football Association) that a sport psychologist should be employeed to assist the performance of the players - can u help me by letting me know - Why sport psychology is important in modern sports particularly in FOOTBALL (soccer) and help me justify this assumption by using appropriate sporting examples? Can u please be kind enough to help me as I am really stuck?? Thanks for ur time!!

There is an excellent article addressing your concern in the November issue of The Monitor. The article talks about Colleen Hacker who is the Sport Psychologist that traveled with the U.S. women's national soccer team in the Women's World Cup. There was also a USA Today article about Colleen a few months back but I unfortunately do not have the date. I hope this little bit of information was some help. Good luck
