Oprah will have a special show on Y2K Monday. Probably will not be the shot heard around the world but may turn a few heads...maybe. http://www.oprah.com/show/tows.html#mon

If all she has on the show are government-happy-faces, the shot heard round the world will be just another spit from the same old water pistol.

We're gonna get soaked again.

FDIC Chairman Donna Tanoue is going to be one of Oprah's featured guests on Monday. Bet you can guess the message she is going to be putting out (your money is safe in banks, your money is safe in banks, your money is safe in banks...)

---don't worry, be happy! next year all those okra lean-free couch spuds will most likely stop having children. Oprah had a very public, sincere, honest chance to provide dissenting opinions, was told and asked about it, it's public knowledge on this board anyway, and to have an honest show. They refused. I have contempt for them. She and her producers are part of the structured money elite, they have their public faces and their CURRENT wealth and power to protect, and they will protect them to the point of dgi harm to themselves and the viewers of that show. As a real gross generality, richer folks and corporations just don't WANT to get it, it's too ske-ere-e-e-e for them to contemplate, so it just can't exist. There are numerous examples all over the media where they" had a chance to show any number of real revelations on a variety of important topics, but they have refused, for various reasons. The most common reason given is "ratings". "Ratings" are only a part of the picture. The REALLY BIG money that controls these corporations that control the media want it to crash and burn, and to finalize the worlds largest transfer of wealth and power, and to finalize the worldwide police/slave state once and for all. That's my take.

zog you hit right on the nose that is my view also. They want to kick over the table and siaze absolute power. The world and our families are facing big trouble. Oprah doesnt realize how much they are prostituing her. She thinks they will protect her they will not. they only serve their own interest. When the full extent of y2k is felt it will be horrible. She has the power to save lives if she stands up for the truth. It's her call. I pray and which her the best and hope that the corporations that fund her show havent blinded her so much so she cant seek the real truth and deliver it no matter what the consequences. She has the power to get the facts to a lied to american public and effect real preparation. Her crediability will be betting the farm if her show guest spin there will be no problem and y2k becomes a world killer like the world wars before it.

Oprah if you just happen to read this thread, Get the facts. Present the truth no matter how scary. The public will honor your faithfullness, dont accept spin for fact dig real deep.

It's about stupidity. You can't be assured of grabbing power in such volatile times. These wealth and power people are very stupid.

She had Tony Keyes on the show about a year ago. He got nowhere with either Oprah or the audience.

It will take something much stronger to wake up the crowd.

Don't bother to watch it. It WILL be all government approved talking heads, repeating the same old mantra, BITR-BITR-BITR. I do hope a GI in the audience will ask each of the talking heads,"Where will you be at rollover?"

lots of us wrote to oprah to assuredly NO AVAIL. we told her she was a voice to whom the average person would listen and that she could have a tremendous affect. it sounds like the decisions were made above her (isn't her boss the ultimate liberal phil donohue?) i find it hard to believe oprah would stand up for something like this either with her comfortable lifestyle that seems immune from real crisis. just wait till she sees what happens to her faithful followers.

I actually feel very bad for Oprah. She's not an investigative reporter, she's just a talk show host. And if she put on a show where the potential realities of Y2K (instead of Polly PR Spin) were discussed, she would be *blamed* for starting a panic and a run on banks, etc.

Oprah doesn't want to go down as the catalyst for a worldwide (her show is seen in numerous other countries) panic. And you better believe the banking and government officials won't let her either.

Who knows what hard questions she might ask though. I don't want to judge her before I've seen what she has a chance to do.

Just my $.02.

Nabi: FYI, the government line on banks in the UK is "Your money's as safe in the bank AS IT'S EVER BEEN." (my caps). I nearly choked when I read that. Listen carefully to the words and see if you can spot similar weaselling.

zog and co: thanks for demonstrating why They regard Us as contemptible morons fit only to be manipulated for their personal profit. You really need to get out of your bunker and get yourself a lungful of those yummy chemtrails. ;p

It could not hurt to write Oprah Winfrey and try to help her understand Y2K better.

To write her an e-mail, you can go to http://www.oprah.com/ show/scoop.html

You can also vote in the Y2K poll.

In addition you can contribute to her message board on the topic of the Y2K program aired November 29.

I am sure that with enough people writing, that she would have more programs on Y2K. Let's hope that future programs will be more helpful to the public.
