Y2K INTROSPECTION  for Pollys, DWGIs and Doomers

Has Y2K affected your dreams?

For the past few months Ive been haunted by a reoccurring dream that I attribute to Y2K. As in most dreams each of the characters represents a subject or idea from our awakened realities. In my Y2K dreams, our technological infrastructure is represented as a huge 18-wheeler semi-tractor trailer truck.

In my first y2k dream, I climbed to the top of an enormous semi-truck that sat on a slightly inclined road. I felt a little vertigo atop the beast, so began making my way down from the top of the cab. It began to sway in its tracks; no parking break was applied and it was not in gear. In hopes to stop the truck from rocking, I slid through the side window and on to the front seat. I tried to find the hand-break with no success. I did all that I could to try to ensure that the truck would not roll, but I could not figure out how to work its complex gear and breaking system. My final option was to climb down and leave the teetering truck, so I slid out the window and down on to the road next to the giant truck. I walked away and around the corner never knowing whether the truck rolled down the hill and crashed below or stayed safely in its tracks. This was my first representational Y2K dream, although I have had other more obvious ones.

In a more recent dream I was racing the huge truck. At first I was in the drivers seat then I was in a small car next to it. We sped down the straight road at great speeds. Another truck in the distance was in the trucks lane. Immediately we were there and it plowed nose-first into the other truck; a complete disaster. I got out of my tiny car to survey the damage. No salvage was possible, for the truck or its driver.

I my most recent Y2K/truck dream, I went into the wilderness in search of a huge double-trailer semi that had become lost on an old dirt road. All of us thought it couldnt have made it through the wilderness. We were searching for it on foot wary of the drivers intentions and we were unsure of what our goal was even if we were to find it. We hoped to be able to get the extremely long truck safely out of the woods. Would it be possible to back it up in reverse the entire way, for there were no turn-a-rounds on this road.

Although purely representational, I believe these dreams were based on Y2K. Id especially be interested to see what any of you, including the DWGIs and Pollys, have been dreaming of recently. The outcomes of the dreams are of highest interest. What happens in your subconscious scenarios? Were solutions found? Of particular interest are the dreams in which the Pollys have been having.

Monitoring our collective dreams might be a method for determining contingency plans, bug-out times, and potential impacts and their locations. Our personal and collective dreams may contain solutions to problems seen and unseen now and during the unfolding of Y2K. Although it may seem like an unnecessary action, I recommend the posting of Y2K based dreams, it may shed some light and may help others.

I'm a Polly and I had a dream about big trucks too. I dreamed I was driving a big rig down the highway, and all of a sudden there is a small car and a huge frickin truck taking up both lanes and coming at me fast. I was going to change lanes and run over the small car, but before I got the chance the huge truck splattered me all over the highway. I think maybe this dream is trying to tell me that I should have seen it coming but I'm too stupid.

OK, I will post 2 of my most vivid y2k dreams and one from my son. I dream of y2k quite often, but these stuck with me the most.

The first was about 10 months ago in the early stages of y2k awareness.

I was at home with my family. I became aware that there was a fire in the vicinity. Others in my family did not see it. The fire was of a very strange nature. It could only be seen from one side of it. Looking inside one could see the white hot coals and the flames as if they were inside a very large cave. But from the top or other sides it was invisible and made no smoke. Also, the fire was moving very slowly and at random.

I could sense that it was getting closer. I called my children, and they came to me. But my partner was not anywhere around. We stood on a nearby hill. The fire moved into our home and burned everything. My youngest son was happy to be alive, but my oldest son was devastated by the losses. We were not harmed and were able to get to safety, but without anything.

That very same week my youngest son had a y2k dream. We all were in a car and in a very remote and snow-covered woods. He knew we should not be there, that it was dangerous. We all got out of the car and began to play. There was a roar in the forest, we all got in the car. His dad said he forgot a toy. He went after it, not realizing the danger, and was killed by the monster. Then it came to the top of the car and tried to get in by scratching the windows. But it could not reach us as long as we stayed inside.

In both of our dreams, their dad is unaware and unable to protect himself. We were able to share our dreams and talk about our fears for him and for our family.

My most recent dream:

There were many people at the top of a mountain. On one peak a woman was dressed in a bathing suit with a body board and about to slide down a slope as if it were a wave. She seemed unaware that the gentle slope became steeper and then a cliff farther on down. She slid to the edge and then went into a freefall down a ravine. She landed in a large pool of mud head first and obviously dead on impact.

The people watching her were calling and horrified. They could see what the danger was, but she was just having fun and was unaware of the people as well as the danger. As it became obvious that she would die, we all began to cry and shout and were in deep shock and grief at the end of the accident. I just stood there crying for a long time afterward, heartbroken that I could not stop it. And in my dream non of the strange, even comic elements of the scene were apparent to me, just the grief.

Often when I wake up I am aware that the dream I have just ended is about y2k, but I only catch a short glimpse and I haven't worked at trying to retrieve my dreams unless they stick with me.

I have worked with dreams in the past and I know they can be very helpful and powerful to understand a situation or process it. So I am happy to share these experiences with others.

This came up in BOK's chat room. My only y2k dream had me in the desert apologizing to a field mouse because I was going to eat him. Bad dream for both of us.

I dream of the day when I can comprehend a plan which uses federal agents and the armed services to solve a problem which is clearly not criminal nor military in nature.

I dream of a leader who, acknowledging a power greater than himself, addresses the nation and inspires the people to tap into the source of power which has changed nations and peoples in the past.......sharing a common vision in dealing with a potentially catastrophic problem.

I dream of a moment when I can say "truth, justice, and the American way" without feeling sad.

I dream of school boards and teacher's unions that have put away all of the political rhetoric and selfish control issues and have returned to providing the best education and the best school system that any country could provide.

I dream of church leaders who have awakened a new spirituality which spreads like wildfire into all communities. A rededication to love, tolerance, personal responsibility, sacrifice for a fellow human, moral character, and an unending energy level.

I dream of a government which is filled with honorable men and women; Each of whom recognizes the unique and powerful nature of the plan that the founding fathers created for this country and each of whom cherishes the opportunity to put their service to a great nation above their own self interests.

There are so many dreams.......

I dreamed I was driving around and kept getting lost because the road signs were all wrong, reversed or painted over. The one that really read "Boston" read "Bosnia"...

Okay, I'll keep this short.

Now, I'll have you know my dreams are _never_ predictive ... except for one. I dreamt about a plane crash in another country this year which came true 2 days after I had the dream.

Anyway, about Y2K. A couple of weeks ago, I had prayed to be granted some kind of guidance for my life for the new year.

That night I dreamt I was in a huge gleaming, clean, well lit grocery store. Stock boys were busy unloading cardboard boxes. All looked well.

I knew it was January 2000 so I turned to my male spirit guide because he was pointing at the boxes. They were labeled "2 and 24" and "1 and 12". In box after box the smaller number was circled. The guide told me the boxes were supposed to contain 24 oranges, or 12 bottles of water or whatever, and the number circled was the actual number in the box.

So instead of 12 bottles of water, in reality there was one in each box.

My 'guide' made sure to show me many examples to impress upon me that although everything looked "normal" and fine, there was a *serious* problem hidden from view. And it would go from satisfactory to critical condition very quickly.

Again, I'm not saying the JIT inventory system will fail, but it was the most vivid and memorable Y2K dream I've had so far.

I know some of these threads are quite humorous, depending on your slant, but give this thread a break of the humor, please. These are real people with a very real issue -- no matter what actually happens with Y2K.

I think it is quite interesting all the personal time spent by the so-called "pollys" on these threads. The Pollys come here for reasons and humor is only their surface need.

If I have a vivid dream I like to write them down in a dream journal if I remember to do so. I take these 2 dreams from my journal. I've been a GI for 2 years since GN site.

9/4/98 - Asked myself the question before going to sleep, "What will Y2K be like?" Dream - Driving along the streets at night in an old car that I didn't recognize as my own. On my right side I saw the town with all the lights out except a few flickers of what looked like candles or whatever in people's homes. On my left I saw blue mailboxes on each corner of every block and I was trying to decide which one to mail my letter in. I choose the 3rd or 4th one. I took this dream to mean that electricity will be out and somehow the mail will get through but due to overflowing mail, more mailboxes were installed on the streets.

10/8/99 Before going to sleep I gave myself a suggestion that I would dream about what Y2K would be like. This occured about 2 months ago. I dreamt that I was in my living room at home and all the lights went out in the house, I also saw a dead cow in the road, and I saw lots of very heavy rain.

My 13 year old daughter had this dream on 9/10/99 and the next night as well and told me about it. She was told in the dream that "If the Chinese attack the Russians then the Americans will attack the Chinese." Then she saw a country with the letter "A". She was scared to be hit by bomb that may miss Washington (we live in VA).

I would love for someone to interpret her dream. Quite complicated for a 13 year old and me LOL.

I'm glad you brought this thread into being Y2Kdreamer. I too like to check out my dreams. I've also had some come true in the past so I know for myself that some dreams can be prophetic as well as just mishmash from the mind, or jumbles from the days happenings, or working out your thoughts and problems of the day.
