Hi Jay, thanks for the idea. I'm going to order a dozen or so. I recently installed a 12V solar/deep cycle electricity system, and was able to run my amp off of an inverter, so don't hang up the strat just yet!

We have about 6 sets of acoustic guitar strings on hand. Significant other is a piano technician, and we go to the NAMM show every year, and get show prices in bulk.

We'll always need/want music.

Yep - got dozens, all flavors, I'm ready to make my livin as a Bard if there ain't no more PCs. got a PigNose for 20 bucks too, runs on 6 AA's got rechargables and a Solar charger. Might just be the only electric slinger in the coral. hehehe ... Hey Bo Diddley...

Goin' down to guitar center on friday (big sale) to blow a WAD! I am SICK of preparing and need to spend some of these hard earned bucks on other amusements/needs for "after". About 10 paks of strings (acoustic), 5 electric and couple bass sets should do it, plus mandoling and banjo. May even buy an amp (yes, an amp! don't care if I can only play it for a month! will have to look at that inverter stuff..) Am also looking at a new acoustic since my ovation gave up the ghost about a month ago... Hubby wants new monitors..., and a couple sets of fiberglass drumsticks.

Broke my long time rule of never posting, wonder how many more of me are out there....(wish I knew)

Got picks?

All right! A whole bunch of Y2K pickers! Marvelous! I placed a big order with Musician's Friend last week--got plenty of those great Martin Studio Performance Phosphor Bronze strings for my Guild D-52 (if you haven't tried these strings, do yourself a great favor and slap a set on your guitar; you'll love 'em!) and some D-Addario 10-46 strings for my Tele and Strat, plus some Fender bass strings and a lot of picks (Fender mediums of course). Also a spare set of tubes for my Vibrolux Reverb amp, just in case they become hard to get in 2000.

What kinda music do you all play?

cody--I try to emulate Brent Mason but my Hendrix and Steve Morse influences get in the way; it doesn't seem to matter in the average Cowboy club, though, as long as you smile when yer finished, everybody thinks you did fine!
