Ok, I'll bite, what are your polly friends saying?

Don't count on it, imHo.

The 'peppered' commercials among the movie realistic scenes serve to bring folks back to the non-reality of the movie only reinforces the unfounded notion that Y2K is just too unbelievable. Surely the masses would know!

Nonetheless, buy more rice, beans, alternate heat fuel, containers, etc.

If this pathetic movie scares your friends, they must really be dense.

What a joke! This will do much more damage than good.....

I loved the one with the guy going to his basement full of french fries. That is almost as good as the recommedation to stock up on milk.

Movie is a lark, people will be nervous, go to sleep and wake up...

asleep again.

Small run, then quiet until December.

What a joke! This will do much more damage than good..... ---------- Yes, it can all be solved by good 'ol USofA ingenuity.

Now, watch the local TV station follow-up news segments to get the real GOODS and report on how everything is fine and WE are as prepared as possible, probably, and except for that other guy [in this inter-dependent planet economy], we're fine..

(sorry for the run-on!) :)

Exactly. Here in Iowa, they had a story at a military surplus store and the Red Cross lady who said "I just think people want to be reassured that everything is all right." She should have said even if its not true. I don't expect much to happen from this move. Maybe a wave of people getting cable to avoid any more network movies! I thought it started out pretty strong, then turned to complete dreck.

Local experts just gave us the real scoop. They have gone to seminars and nothing bad is going to happen. No problem, have enough for three days. Never know when a squirrel will attack the grid.

gag.

I wouldn't be surprised that the public reaction to this movie is a clamour to shut down the nukes. Then we might have power problems.

BWAHHHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAAAAAA

This is not a repat of my earlier message up above. I just can not stop laughing. It's not out of disrespect to the subject. I was just waiting on Wookies to land and fix the power plant. In reality though, the DGI's are scrwed. This movie MAY have converted about .05% of the DGI's and they were already teetering. The reaction of the actors in NYC were more accurate of reality. So the nuke was saved. LOL. Yeah right. And NBC got OUR attention; YEAH RIGHT.
Have a good time everyone. It's going to be a slippery slope now. And remember those most important rule boys and girls:

"Duck and cover, duck and cover"
Then kiss it goodbye, LOL.

Got hmmmmmmm, everything?
