Censorship: visualize Diane with Scraggley hair under her nose!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Folks:

Diane, Chuck, et al. have done a good job on this forum. I can only check-in rarely, now-a-days. But I have been around the forum for a long time. I don't agree with many of the people here, but I consider them to be unseen friends. Hell, if I excluded everyone I disagreed with I wouldn't have any friends. My advice:

1: Ignore these new folks.

2: Support the Sysops.

And laugh. Consider Diane with a Hitler nose. It is funny. They have a sense of humor and have done a good job. Only we old-timers know this. Or do others?

Best wishes,

I'll second the motion -- Z1X4Y7 !!

Can't think of a more thankless job than Sysop on any forum.

Yes, support the sysops. The no-life losers keep whining about censorship, but won't get of their dead -sses and make their own websites. Too funny.

Hey, Diane!

You know you've got a new nick-name on the DeBunky loonie bin board? You're new title is "Darth Squire". I sure hope you get all the perks that come with the title. I'd love to see "You Know Who" get the long-range death grip! :-)

X,

What an interesting point. Isn't that one of the main points of this forum? People need to take personal responsiblity for their own lives & communities.

If you don't like this cyber community, go create your own.

Z1X4Y7,

Completely agree. Sysops are in a 'no win' situation, it's a thankless job.

Thanksgiving is less than a week away & I would like to take the opportunity to give thanks for the time, effort & aggravation that the sysops contribute & endure.

I support the sysops.

The SYSOPS need our complete support and understanding NOW more than EVER. As we are just a tad over a month away from Jan 1, and what with the showing of the (sensationalist) NBC movie on Y2K tonight, you can bet that the number of people coming here to learn about Y2K and what it might mean for them will mushroom. The SYSOPS have my complete vote to take whatever action is necessary to keep this forum in the business of providing useful Y2K info, and throw out the meaningless diversions that take away from this critical life sustaining mission.

Just so y'all know, we have met Diane several times, and she has a nice nose, and pretty hair, on top of the head :-)

You've got to admit Diane,Darth Squire is pretty cool.

Somebody go buy youknowwho a pacifier.

I'm on record as being against censorship.....but you have to pick your battles. Doomie has gone so much out of his/her way to be nothing more, nothing less than obnoxious, I can't be expected to bleed too much over this.

Perhaps if Doomie had at least attempted to be informative or even funny, I'd be able to work up a little outrage, over this. All Doomie has done is screech.

There are people on this board who carry the message that the pessimists are wrong, and do it a way that is for the most part, not obnoxious. Those people do not get deleted. Doomie's implied assertion that the way he/she goes about it, is the only way, is false.

I also find Dommie's argument that it's unfair that Dommers get away with being obnoxious, and pollies don't, to ne a little disingenous. Yes, there's a fairness issue there, but it's a universal one. Does anyone really believe that doomers don't get censored/deleted quicker than pollies, over at Debunky?

In other words, Buh Bye, Doomie....I side with the Sysops

KOS: I have offered many times to mudwrestle with you. I am starting to get jealous and pouty. I am cute when I pout. Your mud or mine?

-- preparing (preparing@home.com), November 21, 1999.

ooooooooooooooo, the moment of reckoning for KOS !!!

preparing: I recall that you once described yourself as a sweet southern girl. Could we try adding some grits? I am feeling experimentive.

King of Spain,

In answer to your polite request to mudwrestle, I would like to say that if it is in the best interests of the forum I would be only too happy to oblige. ;-) (it is for the children, after all)

Perhaps we could arrange some sort of 'Celebrity Mudwrestling' all profits going for 'preps for the underprivileged'. I heard that Jewel is concerned about y2k, perhaps she would be the first celebrity to volunteer to wrestle with you.

Save the earth, mudwrestle.

Darth Squire?????

BWAHAHAHAHAHAAAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAA!!

No. She definitely has more of the Jedi trait in her than that of the Sith.

But it would be fun to hear her say (while force choking the daylights out of the trolls): "I find your lack of faith......disturbing".

The Force is indeed strong with this one.

MTFBWY Chuck & Diane!

Y'all --

Got to say, I, being the 'pacifist' that I am, (I mostly make gravel out of rocks used to hold down a box with the target taped on it at a gravel pit we use to get a little range), I cannot condone the wishes of violence against 'You Know Who'.

His *COMPUTER*, on the other hand, would be fair game.

Sysops -- Thanks for a good job. (The tone here at the forum is *MUCH* better!)

As an old timer here, I find it difficult to understand why so many people posted to the thread : "oldtimers raise you hand": and so few were ready to defend the forum. I just guess that I am out of touch with their values.

Best wishes,,,,,

Good job sysops. The forum is much easier to read now.

-- Dian (bdp@accessunited.com), November 21, 1999.

Humm.

Can't quite visualize the nose. My Irish profile with a light sprinkling of freckles doesn't quite fit the image.

Faith 'n begorra... May the FORCE be with you all!
