We're Fine?

Price Club could only take cash or check this AM -- no debit or credit.

Safeway and Fry's are redecorating the top shelves across the store w/warehouse boxed goods.

Target has more toilet paper stocked across tops of shelves than I've ever seen.

Kaufman & Broad home builder is getting rid of all inventory prior to end of year. Nice home w/price tag of $185,000 can now be purchased for $150,000 if you can close prior to 11-30-99. Seems strange, market is so hot there are multiple bidders for homes currently.

Saw Apache fully equipped about 1000 feet off the ground.

Skies full of jet contrails.

Too much out there not to see it's important to at least be a little prepared.

You had me going there until the Apache bit. "fully equipped" implies 80mm FFARs / Hellfires. And that's worrying, because... you drive a T72? :)

You'll have to trust my 12 yo son. Saw it while I was driving him to school this AM. He's the one that studies this stuff and has all the books. All I can verify is that he was in shock, stated what was overhead, and I tried to keep my eye on the road and look out window and mirror. It was there and yes equipped w/whatever they are equipped with. He's promised to show me the picture in one of his books once he gets home from school. Close enough to read insignia on side. Live outside city in rural area. Do have an AF Base but it's way way other side of town.

claurann- Know what you mean about property market. New home guys were falling over to give us deals, but were still too pricey. We ended up having to bid $3,000 over list on another house, but it's ours before the new year, and has a fireplace, finished basement, pantry. Better than being a sitting duck in an apartment. To me it makes sense for the builders to sell all of their houses before the first of the year.If there isn't any water, electricity or gas,new houses would be very hard to sell.

Any person that owns rental property might also want to sell their properties.Even if you have a lease agreement, your renter may be able to break said lease because of no heat or running water, thus leaving you with a vacant apt.,house or building.Thats just my opinion.
