Y2k movie commercial

Has any one else seen the commercial for the y2k movie?. Shows Clinton giving his don't worry everything is fine press release, then flashes to some guy ( I think military type) holding a shotgun, and people panicking, hysteria etc. Then the background voice says, what if he (Clinton), is wrong? Should say what if he lied! My first reaction was that I don't know if the movie may cause panic, but the commercial sure as hell may. me

That was pretty much my reaction to seeing that trailer. After last weekend's movie, Aftershock, being (to me) such a yawner, I was thinking that one more disaster movie is all that would be needed to put everyone to sleep. Perhaps not. (PS - does anyone know when Clinton's announcement would have been made?)

Small but important point: is the hook "What if he IS wrong?" or "What if he WAS wrong?"

Thanks!

Was last night the first time of airing the preview? We were surprised that NBC used factual clips of Clinton and his "Everything will be ok" footage. Then on a black background with bright green lettering came the words "What if he is Wrong"(I agree with the above poster. My first thought is "What if he is lying?" I am sure this will jump into many viewers minds. Am wondering if NBC chose those words specifically for that effect.) This was followed by the panic we call TEOTWAWKI. Another commercial had footage of someone from the utilites saying 60% of the country could have blackouts causing a domino effect. Then the black screen with green words, "What if They are Right" Again panic was shown.

Both comercials were scary. NBC is going all out for this one. The commercials alone should make pollies and non beleivers think again. I posted before that my brother works in a bank and it is Mandatory for all employees to watch the movie and be prepared for Monday. I will post the reaction, if any, that his bank has to this movie.

Thank God someone, even if it is NBC, is starting to break ranks!

I guess they don't want to

BURN IN HELL!!!

They're not breaking ranks. They're making money. That's the only reason they're doing this.

Doomerssuck, that's what worries me. They (NBC) don't care about causing a panic (which I don't really think will happen because few will take the movie seriously), but only about the MONEY. If panic does result, too bad, tough luck!
