---so far, he's saying to prepare, but no definite time frame. the first question was "how can we trust industry self-reporting?" --I guess it's OK, so far, but he's saying that independent audits have been made...oh well...we'll see......continuuing

-- zog (zzoggy@yahoo.com), November 14, 1999.

I'm listening. He's been forthright if you can call backpedelling forthright. E.g. Y2K or not Y2K you should know the direct number for your emergency services. Regarding international trade, most of our trade is with rich and ready countries. Of course if your business depends on an unready country you might experience some problems..

And so on.

...NOPE THIS BOZO IS STILL PEDDLING THE "3 DAY WEEKEND CRAP"..caps off..whoops...well, I'm saying that ANYONE who doesn't already have three days of everything is PROFOUNDLY disturbed. ...the United States--as a country--this great experiment-is about to fall, and fall hard. I AM SCARED. I'm prepared for basically forever off the grid, etc, but still scared. it's going down the tubes, big time. We as "the people" trusted the idiots in charge, we gambled. more whoops......

Paul Gordon just asked Kosky about possible oil shortages in late January. His response was that 1) people on the web are not necessarily "experts", and 2) we have a 60-90 day petroleum supply "in process". Also said 2 of the 5 main petroleum exporters to the U.S. AREN'T compliant (Venezuala, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia). Any comments from the forum petroleum experts? Gordo?

"people on the web are not necessarily "experts" "

And *he* is? CauseSkinEm who just found out embeddeds may have date issues?

BBBBWWWWWWWAAAAAAHHHHHHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA

You make him squirm, Dr. Paula Gordon: Harpoon him!

Anyone with half a brain listening to what he is saying would run out and buy a few months of preps. He is not totally lighthearted here, kids. If I didn't know about this, I would be SHOCKED to my toes listening to him.

well

30% med services could have problems filing claims

VERY LITTLE INFOMATION ON WATER SUPPLY!

Same with Chemical industry, drugs, SM&Es, public housing, Health care.

What suprised me was the idea he put forward that if you can't get good information then you had better prepare for failures.

And no questions from the press about the water supply, more consern for the 911 systems, easy fix, have the direct numbers to the local emergency providers in your area.

There is no easy fix for water failure.

Wierd.

Mara...I totally disagree with you. I listened to every word and tried to pretend I have no previous knowledge. I didn't hear anything that would cause me to prepare other than for a hurricane or earthquake. We who live in such prone areas get this all the time and STILL DON'T PREPARE more than a few hours in advance of a 'cane. If I lived in the midwest, or any area of the country where blizzards are the norm, I would think this guy was nuts! OF COURSE I WOULD HAVE 3 DAYS OF FOOD in the pantry. I heard nothing that would cause the average Joe to extrapolate anything out to reality. And if this hand book is so damn good, why does the public not know about it? How many people don't have computers and tuned into a forum that would tell them about the booklet? How many people watch CSPAN on a Sunday afternoon? Not very damn many. Why isn't the gubmint sending that booklet out to each and every household in the US? The questions, for the most part were good. But that weasel is really skilled at evasion. Slick Willy has nothing on this dude other than perhaps personality. He has really missed his calling. He should have been a used car salemen. All that is left now is to hunker down. "Hunker in the Bunker" is my new theme song.

Taz...who is thoroughly disgusted! Oh yes, he and Jane Garvey will both be flying new year's eve. He said aviation works on GMT time so that will be 7pm. Maybe we will get lucky and one of them will fall out of the sky. Do we get a choice? I pick Garvey...she is a total bimbo. I prefer to hang "the weasel". Thanks for the heads up Cavscout.

Kosky has been lying his ass off on the subject of oil. The strategic petroleum reserve is crude oil which would take months to be extracted, refined and delivered to your local gas station. In a true oil shortage the Feds would convert to their usual performance, too little and too late (ask the folks in North Carolina).

He also is lying about the inventory of groceries, claiming there is a month's supply. Again he is confusing raw materials with finished delivered goods.

I guess this is the modern version of "let them eat cake". Now it is "let them eat wheat".

Taz,

I didn't see the program but maybe Mara is "listening" between the lines. Maybe there is a bit of an attempt to put the word out the best he can without creating a stampede.

Maybe?

Either way, I think the good Czar (ie: Scapegoat) is going to take the heat for this deal. He needs to be preparing a resume'.

I did not get to listen to the whole program but what little I did get to hear did not impress me. One thing that really caught my attention was that someone questioned Kosky about when Clinton would speak publiclly about Y2k. Kosky immediately said Clinton has spoken about it already, once in 1998 and that he (Clinton) addressed the issue of Y2k in his State of the Union Address. I felt that Kosky was trying to give the impression or imply that Clinton FOCUSED on Y2k during the State of the Union Address. If you will remember, Y2k was mentioned casually and with humor during the State Of the Union talk and received one person's applause. The point being this, Kosky was trying to Lead Us to Beleive something that was not true. He was not telling the truth nor was he lying. He was manipulating the facts.

How many other times has the man taken information and distorted it to fit the Rosey Picture of Everything is OK?
