One of the interesting aspects of this forum is when a connection appears that I didn't expect to see. I sense there are relationships in the Y2K that make it like a soap opera. Two simple questions:

(1) Roland: can you tell me at least a little about what got you on Oprah?

(2) 'a': I'm not quite sure why but you are mysterious to me. Are you a big-iron guy and do you work proximate to C.H.?

Hey Dave,

About 8 years ago I was living in the Greater Chicago area and we had recently had a child. They were advertising for couples who had recently given birth to come on the show and talk about how it had changed all aspects of their relationships.

We were chosen to appear, picked up in a limo and appeared on the show. It was pretty cool...makeup, bagels in the Green Room, souvenir "Oprah" coffee etc. She is really very nice, although it is definitely hard to get a word in edgewise and speak for any length of time.

All in all, a neat experience. My one and only "brush with fame". :-)

At the risk of becoming less mysterious, I'm a DoD consultant working with large information infrastructures, mainly in C/S UNIX. No, I only know Cory through his WRP and an occasional email.

Never made it on Oprah either. Sorry. :)
