A must listen--Y2K Symposium attendee

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Guys I have lurked here and there; posted a couple questions--(found you late in the game); been turned-off by some mean, thoughtless responses; received some great input; but, I did want to contribute something before I too bid you farewell (to go prepare some more).

Check out this news site: http:sangersreview.com/body_sanger.html. He ususally updates late in the day, so yesterday's post should still be up. If not, go to archives. Make sure you don't miss the link to "Y2K Endgame" by McAlvany Intelligence. You need RealAudio. (Link provided at site.)

A guy attended the last Y2K symposium and it was a crisis management meeting. He said all the folks were open with him even though they knew he was press. A lot of gov officials were there. Some interesting stuff (50% of Fortune 1000 companies will not by ready, several metro areas will be hit, gov decided they didn't want public to do same thing at same time, so (as early as 2 years ago) they decided to not tell it like it is....

I've got some interesting stuff on National Guard and Reserves, etc. that I will share if I have more time. I've got several other personal crisises (sic?) as well as this cloud hanging over me right now.

Best of luck to everyone...I'm in the SF Bay area, but not for long. M

Anyway, please share your information regarding the NG and Reserves when things clear up around you.

Best of luck to you too!

Anybody know anything about this Gordon (I can't begin to spell his last name) who says he attended the Year 2000 Symposium Series?

-- Just (wondering@always.asusual), November 10, 1999.

Gordon MacDonald, I believe. (No relation to the famous Ronald.)

I think I have some books by him around here somewhere. He has written some books, done some family conference type speaking around the country for the last 20 years or so. I think, unless it is a different person, that he is totally reliable.
