recent interview, et al...

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I was interviewed recently by a British broadcaster, and the topic of Y2K came up. When asked my opinion of the possible outcomes, I looked right into the camera, smiled, and stated "Who knows? It may be terrible, it may not be."

So this is what lying feels like - I can see why doomers enjoy it so. The rush of scaring innocent women and children; the fallacious sense of power - even fleeting power that will crash in upon one as soon as the meme washes out in a deafening silence of non-events - I understand now better than before the religious motivation of the Y2K zealots.

I like this game - shall we play some more?

Laughing Regards,
Andy Ray

What a sicko! Grow up kid, there are innocent folks out there who are scared to death because of this mess you programmers have gotten us in! If you get a thrill out of scaring people when they don't need to be scared, God help you!

Try telling the truth, Andy.

You are like the dog turds I used to watch out for in New York, before the pooper scooper laws came into effect.

You disappoint more and more. Where's Old Git to remind us of your y2k safe retreat in Spain? Fatherinlaw's spread if I recall.

Carlos, are you saying Andy Ray is really Wolfie? It's Wolfie who's going to spend the holidays at the wife's family's castille with the well and garden, the wine cellar and fortifications or whatever. Can't quite remember the precise details, but I do remember he invited all the debunkers to join him. Oh, now wouldn't THAT be the Rollover From Hell!

Carlos -

I might be reaching here, but are you saying Wolverine and Andy Ray are one and the same?

Gee, Andy Ray, people might be telling you to go forth and multiply, but at least they are not calling you a troll!

Oops. Wrong, guy. But, you still disappoint. Liked your Does X=Y stuff better.

**sigh**

Andy Ray, I swore never to respond to you again. But here you are, up to your same old foolishness. Let me analyze what you have posted here.

YOU are interviewed. YOU are asked for your true opinion. YOU say that Y2K may be terrible, or not. Then you tell us in so many words that you lied. Then you tell us how it felt to YOU, and the feelings were nothing that redound to your credit.

And what lesson do you draw from this experience? That what YOU did and what YOU felt shed discredit on OTHERS.

Andy Ray, this is an exact and literal description of the contents of your post. Are you really that blind as to think this kind of thing reflects shame on anyone but you?

What a dickhead. The truth is that most of us "doomers" do lie. I lie all the time when asked and I say, "gee, it probably won't be too bad" because I'm tired of being ridiculed by arrogant little fools like you. So IF it turns out to be a BITR (right) you can laugh your ass off at me; until then I've got more important things to worry about, so fuck off, jerk. BTW give up the "meme" shit, it's old.
