Does anyone else see the darkness falling?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Friends, This is neither a techie nor an observation of anything current. In fact it's something that happened to me a very long time a go. If you're not into anything metaphysical or spiritual you may want to stop this read now.

Shortly after I was released from the military I had a kind of a two or three day spell or vision or whatever. One of the things I could see was the darkness over the cities, people starving and just wondering around. This was a real event in my life in the early 70's. It left me week and pale for a few days.

Was I doing drugs at the time? No Had I in the past? Oh yea, just about anything I could get ahold of. Do I think this vision was a flashback or a result of drug use? No, I don't. It was a whole different kind of thing.

Anyway, has anyone had similar things happen.

I know this is probably not even approiate to this fourm, but I had to ask.

Dear Crybaby: I have heard of others experiencing what you mention. Try www.matrixinstitute.com and follow a little of Gordon Michael Scallion. He talks a lot about this sort of thing in his book NOTES FROM THE COSMOS. Also, try www.zetatalk.com as they tell stories of the past and future worlds. Maybe you should meditate and try to get more images. Good luck, Sky.

I had a dream, or I guess really a nightmare, a couple of weeks ago that was more real than any other I can recall from any recent memory. It was after Los Angeles had been nuked somehow, and there was also something going around with some type of biological agent in the air, but I think that was something to do with the Denver area. It is pretty sketchy right now, but the thing that blew me away was how real it seemed, so I hope it wasn't a premonition. It seemed to be that just one small nuke had hit LA, because the infrastructure was only halfway destroyed, and a lot of people were still walking around alright.

(Disclaimer: Any resemblence in this dream to actual persons or places is coincidental and not known to be based on fact.)

In March of 1977, I had a series of premonitions. One had to do with the weather - the wrong weather in the wrong places. The other was a vision of a shelter with two old ladies in dark tattered coats. Their cheek bones were hallowed and they looked hungry. Someone behind them was trying desperately to call someone on the phone but was not able to get the call through. The shelter had very dim light.

I talked with several friends about the premonition, trying to decide what it meant. It puzzled me for many years until I GI. Y2K has the potential to produce scenes that I saw over 20 years ago.

You are normal. It's not only inappropriate for the forum, it's inappropriate for our society. That's why most people supress their abilities in this dept..

A few weeks ago my daughter had a kind of vision that seemed very clear. She was standing on a hill looking toward Washington D.C. The city was dark, as if destroyed, and there was a large fence around it. Symbolic, yeah! VERY symbolic! On a parallel note, how many out there think Clinton is TRULY clueless. I don't. I don't think he is in denial either, just wants to hold on to his "successful" role as leader for as long as he can. What a rat!!!

-- D.J. Phillips (gardengal@land.com), November 06, 1999.

You are not alone. Many of us have had these premonitions. There are many places that you can look for answers on the net. Some have already been listed. I believe that is why some of us place more emphasis on our preps....however, I don't think these premonitions are about Y2K...I feel that it lies somewhere in the near future however. The number 2012 has been spoken of recently ...something to think about anyway...the world has become a very dangerou place.

I'm glad I came back to the site and took a glance. (I had left)

In short, YES, I saw the people wondering about last spring during a spiritual reading. They were in packs of about 4 or 5, reminding oneself of zombies in suburban polo shirts, and in a visible numbed daze where just going this way or that.

...well, I had one, several years ago. this is before my y2k awareness. for some reason, society had collapsed. there was a mixture of still current technology and the 1800's style man and beast powered technology. I was in a small farm community (weirdly kinda like where I am now), and there was a trading fair going on, some long buildings and tables, etc, and all the farmers and craftspeople had come to swap and barter. anywhoo...there was an alert sounded, and folks were scattering into the hills and into shelters. then a small flight of helos came down into the valley and stated spraying something..I was up on the side of the mountain, and was part of the defense force for the community.was watching these copters come swooping down...I woke up then, scared manureless.....

I had this dream where I was riding a horse around with this old mailbag on my shoulder, visiting little villages and delivering mail, and recruiting kids to help me. Then I started fighting with the other horsemen and they captured me and my new girlfriend and then the dream ended.

I am a very logical person in life but have had visions and dreams that come true that I have seen. I have accepted that visions and things I see come true are also part of life. Maybe a part I truly do not understand and may never understand but neverthless it is a fact that they come true.

A year ago last spring before I even knew Y2k problems I had a vision of war when the men in funny yellow hats come together with the ones in the funny looking blue hats, do not know who these peoples are but I believe war is coming. It was a horrible war with machines I have never seen. I saw a vision of a pentagon on a tree and it melted like wax and all it limbs melted also.

I have also seen people walking in lines following the one in front of them. Their clothes were black, they carried umbrellas that were also covered with the black, hairy, sooty stuff falling from the sky. They very thin and on their last leg. The land around them was bare of any green thing or plants of any kind. I was hiding underground but was peeking out of the "shelter"; I had my child next to me in the vision and in the vision when I saw them I said "they are walking to their death"

I am interested to know from the vision of the valley being sprayed with copters---Did you notice any emblems on the copters?

Back in August there was a lengthy thread on premonitions. It seems a lot of people were having them, mostly concerning diasters of some sort, many with huge tidal waves sweeping over the landscape, drowning cities etc. www.greenspun.com/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg.tcl?msg_id=001BgR

I had a premonition the other day. It was Monday morning, January 3, I was driving to work. There was trafic. I was running low on gas. I stopped at a Quik Stop and pumped gas. I went to pay with my debit card. It worked. I woke up in a cold sweat. Darn, I was hoping I would not have to go to work.

I had this dream (or was it a meme?) recently that Anita and Cherri were competing for the Miss Y2K Pollyanna award, the contest for which was being held on Jan 1, 2000 at a 7-11 store in Washington, Dee Cee. There was also a big prize for the winner that consisted of a worldwide tour, sponsored by the World Bank, where Miss Pollyanna would go to foreign countries and report on how the recent $10M loaned out for Y2K use had been so well spent and saved the day.

Anyway, just as the winner was to be announced, an embedded chip kicked off in the fire sprinkler system and drenched the competitors -- who at that time just happened to be in the swimsuit phase of the competition -- with water. What then followed was a mad "food fight" in the ailes of the 7-11, as the women contestants proceeded to become instant Y2K believers, grabbing all that they could from the shelves. Anita and Cherri began fighting over a fruitcake, their sleek, drenched bodies, convulsing as they battled mightily.

At that point, I woke up, somewhat drenched myself, especially down below. Gawd, if that is not a premonition of what is to come, I can't imagine what could be!

We are the chosen ones...(do you suppose it could be genetic?) ;-) Is there a survivalist gene? I guess there would have to be.

-- kritter (kritter@adelphia.net), November 06, 1999.

kritter,

You said this on other thread, too..."chosen"...how? Can you flesh this out a little? it's an honest Q., not trolling.

---helicopter answer question-no, don't recall insignia, they were dark-not black-just very dark, had booms to either side with nozzles and were spraying the farm valley and the festival and people directly. approximately 8 of them, a flying wide V wedge, normal mil type looking copters. they were not thin copters, like the newer apapches, looked like the older cobras or something similar. wish I could remember more, had this dream in the spring of 94 if I remember correctly, wasn't aware of y2k then, but i do remember that i hadn't been watching any war movies or anything that night. It was very vivid, and is one of about 5-6 dreams that really stand out in my whole life so far. i normally don't even remember dreams, and they are usually in black and white, this dream was serious color and sounds, most real. wish i could remember more, like what we used for defense!

Does anyone know what kind of weapon and ammo you would need to put one of those choppers out of commision. Don't want to hit the pilot, just maybe pierce the gas tank or engine. I don't like what that guy was saying and want to be ready just in case.

-- Space Cowboy (don't_like_things_@_flyin_around._my_head), November 06, 1999.

I have had a dream since I was a child about walking around in a town, eerily quiet. Then there is a pale dead person slumped over on a bench, flies buzzing around his stubbly blue-grey face, eyes still open and jam locked slightly open in rigor mortis. He looks a little like me, kind of but not completely. I'm horrified and run away. Then I stumble over another dead person lying on the ground. Pretty soon I am wandering around this town, the last one left alive, and there are more and more dead people everywhere. The smell is faintly rotten and stale. The air is brisk and the sky is clear blue, and the trees are bare. While no one is left alive, I still get the feeling that I am being pursued or closely watched but I do who it is.

Needless to say I sometimes wake up in a cold sweat, sometimes screaming when this one hits.

Another dream is being stuck in an elevator that goes nuts, plummeting and rising and rattling as if it were an enclosed car on a roller coaster.

Ah yes those recurring dreams. Damn them all. If only I could get one good night's sleep a week. I doubt they have anything to do with the Future but who the heck knows.

To Um

In answer to your question==It just seems like the few who choose to prepare have had some commen compulsion to do so, (and can't for the life of them figure out why no one else has) and seem to share some commen dreams or visions. (As witnessed by this very thread) It just feels to me like something out of a sci-fi novel. I don't really think we are "the chosen ones" per se...but I really do believe there has to be some who are genetically predisposed to survivalism, and in the course of human evolution it would make perfect sense.

Other than that..I just like saying it. :-)

Spacecowboy, Since I am female can not verify that this is true info; women were not allowed in war in Vietnam. I dated a guy for a few years that said the Vietnamise would throw long poles into the blades of the copters to make them crash. Guess the craft would really have to be low to do that, did not sound like those in the dream were that low. Don't know just how the got the pole at the correct angle and did it.

I am sure there must be some Nam Vets on this board; maybe they can expand on or verify it.

Interesting thread..... A friend of mine told me her Grandfather had a dream or premonition back in the '50's some time. He told her that something really bad was going to happen to the world around the turn of the century, either 1999 or 2000, one or the other of those years. He repeatedly mentioned that until the day he died. He was an old Mexican gentleman, not taken to exaggeration.

As far as war, etc., there are a number of people out speaking these days who have had premonitions or dreams or something similar about the US being invaded by foreign countries, most notably Russia and China, who would be in cahoots with each other. Recent reports from US citizens in Russia tell of military in the streets stopping cars and rounding up all available men for military service - and the military building up beyond what they would be expected to do for that Chechneya problem... Dunno...... Interesting times we live in!

Onebyone,

They might have been talking about the tail rotor, which reminds me that is sort of the "Achilles Heel" on those choppers. Excellent point of attack. It wouldn't kill them but would make them want to land real fast. That's the ticket, thanks!

So how are things going over at excite.com... are you an "exciteable" girl?

Everything is surreal, driving to work, working, shopping. I feel distanced. I have never, ever felt the way I feel now. No significant dreams of late, which is actually a tad bit unusual for me. The real strange thing is the increased experiences of Deja`vue. Latest -- Yesterday read a great post frl#11, I've been rhyming every since. Today I had stuck in my head .........

The trolls go marching one by one "hurrah" "hurrah"

The trolls go marching one by one "hurrah" "hurrah"

When the S**t hits the fan, and they haven't a plan

They'll all scream and shout and then they won't doubt......

Then I read this post pst -7ish, and see a poster I have never seen before - her "name" onebyone (and no, I am not implying any trollish connection)

Weird ;-)

-- weird (karlacalif@aol.com), November 06, 1999.

Weird,

I am new (a few weeks) to this board. I came from a post on my personal forum showing the link to this one. :-) Quite honestly I have not quite firgured out what exactly a troll is yet:-) so can not say that I am or am not one. Maybe someone could give a newbie to this board the real definition of "troll".

Actually I think most would consider me a doomer if anything from what I have read on these posts so far. I found out about Y2K problems last fall and started preparing wholeheartly as I think there is a very good possiblility that there are going to be big problems the first few months of the year that will lead to depression. I think there is a possibility that Gary N. could be right and we could receed somewhat to the 1800's not because the knowledge is lost but mainly because transportation is GREATLY slowed so people have to learn to do things for themselves. As of result I have chickens, seeds, manual tools and about 30 reams of paper print outs on everything I can think of to do it the old way or preserve the present knowledge until someone comes who can implement the written word. I have done this with scarifice using a very small inheritance from the death of my mother last year and in spite of supporting a child alone with great difficulities.

Feel free to visit my free speech forum and you can certainly find out more about me, I do not appoligise to anyone for what I stand for or against.

Space cowboy,

Since excite is free email then yeah I am an excitable lady :-)

Onebyone: Do you like to mudwrestle?

-- King of Spain (madrid@aol.cum), November 07, 1999.

(Strictly FWIW)

For about three years before I'd heard of y2k, I had recurring dreams of planes falling from the sky. Perfectly realistic, ultra-intense experiences of Jumbos crashing nearby. I guess it's symbolic, or something. I was interested to hear that Coprolith has had dreams of dodgy elevators. I wonder if anyone has had nightmares featuring defective toasters and vcrs, and not known what they were rreally about. Dreams rock.

-- number six (Iam_not_a_number@hotmail.com), November 07, 1999.

OBO- no no no no no no you are not a troll, thats not what I meant.

IMMHO-- I believe a Troll to be a genetically reproduced sub-human from the Pleistocene. They post flames and disrupt threads. They hold dear to their hearts (as do the pollies) the "the fallacy of compostion"

I apologize if there was a misunderstanding - The trolls were trolling yesterday, and I just had that song stuck in my head - coincidence that your first post I have read, had that particular handle. I could have gone "preparer's are marching onebyone hurrah" but I was just trying to gently slam the trolls.
