"How do it know?"

There's an old joke wherein a man is given a new thermos. The gift-giver tells him, "It keeps the cold things cold, and the hot things hot."

The receiver looks a bit puzzled and asks, "How do it know?"

The following describes a "Pearl Harbor" type computer attack warning for the power grid etc.

My question is, "How do it know" if it's Y2K or a terrorist?

Actually, this posting makes a good underlying point. Preparations and contingency planning are valuable, no matter what the underlying disruption. Whether it be hurricane, flood, ice storm, Y2K disruptions, (un!)civil disruptions, earthquake, unemployment, or whatever, it is great to be prepared! It also allows one to help one's neighbors.
