Cory Hill's shiny new coffee table book!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

"The Book" was a joke I created to get a rise out of the debunkers group. I sometimes have weeks or months of antagonistic spells...i chose them as my target. I'm neither writing a book, or in college. The post I made about my "book" is riddled with inconsistencies, and only one person caught on to me but was easily diverted.

I have my preps, and I'm still a "doomer" as it were.

Interesting group they are though. I find that they fall victim to the same things they blame this group for...

Believing everything they read.

My favorite psychotic debunker is CPR....he's a riot. Oh yeah, and that guy that threatened to kill me....I'm considering having the police contact the owner of that board to start the trace on the IP of that one....I've done this before and it works quite well. It is illegal to threaten people on the Internet, in case you were wondering.

I'm sure my toying with the debunkers will upset some of you, but oh well, I can't please everyone.

BTW did you all catch the article about NASA not having the shuttle up....LOL

Cory, I'm sorry to say this, but you have burned your credibility. Toying with people's minds have grave concequences.

Y2K is the most serious event that most of us on this forum and Debunker forum probably ever will have to go through, except for the war and great depression veterans. Whether it turns out not bad or real bad, the anxiety over it, the money spent over it, is all too real.

I refuse to even look at the Debunker forum anymore, I've glimpsed at it once and found it extremely sad. Immaturity Forum is what it should be called. Pollies are people too, and although I feel sadness and pity for them, they don't deserve to have their minds f***'d with insincerity.

Peace to you Cory

-- Chris (#$%^&@pond.com), November 03, 1999.

They sent someone over who did this very same thing. I got the idea from there "trolls", so I gave them one back.

If you are SO far gone into y2K that you can't have a little fun, then mabe those debunkers have a point!

-- Cory Hill (coryh@strategic-services.net), November 03, 1999.

Cory...

I still have a sense of humor, but I also believe the foolishness on this topic can be done without. I wonder how much your "stirring of the hornet's nest" on the other forum had to do with last week's invasion of the conehead trolls. Do you find those that discuss this subject, regardless of the outcome, to be trifled with? I am here, both on this forum and at this stage of prepping, out of concern for my family. The potential for very serious danger is very real. Therefore, I usually leave my sense of humor behind when I deal with the serious.

-- Patrick (pmchenry@gradall.com), November 03, 1999.

Dude, why don't you find something else to do with your life other than annoy BOTH forums??? I never thought that I would agree with Doc Paulie on ANYTHING, but I agree with him that you are indeed a dipshit, and ought to just go away and leave all of us alone.

-- King of Spain (madrid@aol.cum), November 03, 1999.

Cory...

I still maintain my sense of humor inspite of y2k. I have to wonder though, how much your "stirring of the hornet's nest" had to do with last week's invasion of the conehead trolls.

I am here, both on this forum and at this stage of preps, out of a concern for my family. I could have lived without all of that hog waddle last week, as I'm sure others could have as well.

If you had to do what you did, why not use an assumed name, so as to keep the heat off of this limited bandwidth forum?

-- Patrick (pmchenry@gradall.com), November 03, 1999.

You've lost any credibility that you may have once had here imo. You embarassed us....well, at least me.

-- An (Embarassed@Doomer.Here), November 03, 1999.

and what did I do to this forum? I have in fact helped MANY people since mid-1998 with Y2K preps.

Maybe I just cracked up from the stress of all this shit.

-- Cory Hill (coryh@strategic-services.net), November 03, 1999.

I appologised to the other group. You guys are right, I shouldn't have used them for a target to get my y2K stress out.

it was stupid.

-- Cory Hill (coryh@strategic-services.net), November 03, 1999.

As usual, the vision of the Hawk was accurate. I knew that story was a load of crap!

-- Hawk (flyin@high.again), November 03, 1999.

Cory

We have had a couple of the members of Debunkers try and shut or fuck around with this forum seriously and aggressive posturing on both sides in the past. There is little doubt in my mind that you did stir up something that reverberated through the weekend.

Just ask the Sysops how much they like dealing with the disruptions of your little joke. As much as I would love to, going over to the Debunkers site and stirring up caca is just no way to get through this situation. I never post by another name, and not going to start just to get even with a bunch of kids.

Mind you the forum got a bit of a shakedown and a reality check I am sure. It could get worse in the future.

-- Brian (imager@home.com), November 03, 1999.

I know I know...i got cought up into the flamewar with cpr, and I just didn't stop..it was like I was on autopilot....

Like I said.. I am sorry to both groups. I feel like a jackass.

I can't wait for this god damn whole y2K thing to be over with. Whatever happens I just want it to happen so I can stop waiting for it!!!!!

It's like my whole life has been on HOLD since '98. It's eating me up inside.

-- Cory Hill (coryh@strategic-services.net), November 03, 1999.

Cory, I frequent debunkers on occassion, and thought your entry was funny at first...was not the least offended. I even thought at first that it would be good for some of you here to post your thoughts there if you wished. (I post there and here occassionally). 1But then the flame wars started, sigh...fortunately, I abstained.

Not sure what your intent was, but flames are way to easy to start, I know, 'cause I've started some, even when I didn't mean to.

Look, the Y2K debate period has essentially ended, the course is set, why don't those with ALL kinds of views on Y2K consider this as a a time to watch, post a few factual pieces, interesting news, etc?

Bottom line - regardless of our views, we face the same computer problem in Y2K...

Regards,

-- FactFinder (FactFinder@bzn.com), November 03, 1999.

Cory, I hope you did indeed apologize to the DB forum. I'm afraid your credibility has taken a severe hit from your bogus postings. Most of us hope for something better on this forum.

Cory is a fake. FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE.

-- (Fake@finder.com), November 03, 1999.

Cory, it would seem that you visit these forums to feed your ego. You are certainly not alone as there are many who post in order that some sort of celebrity will be attached to their name. Now, you destroyed whatever credibility you may have had and your further participation would appear to be without foundation.

-- Truth (at@the.ready), November 03, 1999.

"I can't wait for this god damn whole y2K thing to be over with. Whatever happens I just want it to happen so I can stop waiting for it!!!!! It's like my whole life has been on HOLD since '98. It's eating me up inside."

This is why so many people have found that spiritual preparation for y2k is so important. So much so as to be first on the list, *before* heat, water, and food. That does not mean "Christian" necessarily, or any other name brand. But when you are spiritually prepared there is a surprising amount of true peace in this whole process.

I wish you well.

Joe

As usual, the mouth of the Hawk, AKA @, is flapping away with little to say.

-- Fly (away@dip.shite), November 03, 1999.

Well, I can accept that some of you won't accept my posts as credible. It was a foolish thing I did.

Be that as it may, my life will go on, and my preps will continue.

I once forgave a kid who I watched key my car, even though it is one of my favorite things in this world.

To those of you who can offer me forgiveness, I am thankful. If you cannot, then so be it.

-- Cory Hill (coryh@strategic-services.net), November 03, 1999.

As far as the post about me wanting some sort of "celebrity" attached to my name, you are wrong. I mean give me a break here..who wants to be a "message board star"? I simply let my mouth run away with me..it has happened to people of more importance than I sometimes, and it ill happen to someone else eventually too. So goes life.

I could have easily changed my name and disappeared, but instead I stayed to face the music. That should count for something IMO.

Anyway, I can understand your frustration with me.

peace out.

-- Cory Hill (coryh@strategic-services.net), November 03, 1999.

"I could have easily changed my name and disappeared."

-- So (just@do.it), November 03, 1999.

Actually, now that I think of it, it was this guy that is calling me a FAKE who was the original inspiration for me to go over there and mess with the debunkers.....

I wish I would have ignored you instead of taking after you.

-- Cory Hill (coryh@strategic-services.net), November 03, 1999.

Thank you Joe. someone gave me a similar piece of advice back in January, when I first started really freaking out about Y2K, I should have listened.

I feel like I'm at the end of my rope on this (y2K) thing. It's getting to the point that I no longer care what happens come January. It is almost not worth the stress.

-- Cory Hill (coryh@strategic-services.net), November 03, 1999.

Cory, you are coming across as a very disturbed young man and you might take a deep breath and step back from all of this. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this forum for awhile and get your mind and life together. You seem to be placing a great deal of importance to your status here and sound like you are mentally unraveling. Surely you have more important issues in your life so why not address them. Good luck son.

-- Take (five@and.relax), November 03, 1999.

No, not really mentally unravelling, but highly stressed.

1. I moved away from my friends in Oregon to Vegas (all my GI friends) 2. Just started a new company (computer telephony software) 3. preps aren't done 4. want/need y2k to hurry up and get here and get over with.

I went over to the other forum as a joke at first, I wasn't aware of how serious everyone was. Got into a pissing match with cpr over there, and it just snowballed. Like I said, I just let myself get out of control, and considering how shitty life is right now, Im not suprised.

Actually, I find it interesting that the people on this forum are being less understanding than the one I flamed. Strange.

Oh well....sigh

-- Cory Hill (coryh@strategic-services.net), November 03, 1999.

Cory We moved from Portland OR to Vegas last year. What's your opinion on local y2k affects?

-- G Bailey (glbailey1@excite.com), November 04, 1999.

This reminds me of a phone call I got several months ago. A young woman asked for me by name. I asked who was calling. She identified herself as a nurse from a local hospital. She told me my mother had been in a car accident, and was in surgery, and left a phone number to reach a doctor. Frantically, I called the number, only to get her "partner in crime" posing as an ER nurse. I quickly uncovered their scheme as nothing more than a cruel prank played by a couple of 14- year olds with time on their hands.

I called the cops. Got in touch with the parents, eventually. Put the fear of God into them, I hope.

It was not the least bit funny. Oh, the girls thought it was at first. Until they actually had to think about what they did, and the impact it had on their "victim".

People are pissed at you, Cory, because Y2k is not a practical joke, and your behavior was that of a foolish and impetuous teenager. Time to grow up.

A break couldn't hurt, either. Take 2 weeks away from all things Y2k (except your preps, if need be), and come back and report what you've learned. Then, you may be welcomed back by some of the forgiving types. It'd work for me.

-- Not perfect but we must (learn from mist@k.es), November 04, 1999.

Corey

As pennance give all your preps to a food bank and then go the hell away

-- 8 (8@8.com), November 04, 1999.

Actually, I find it interesting that the people on this forum are being less understanding than the one I flamed.

Then go back to your idiot debunker buddies, you pathetic whiner. Nobody wants you here, can't you see that???

-- (brett@miklos.org), November 04, 1999.

Cory, OK, it was dumb...but who hasn't done something dumb and regrettable? Let he who is perfect cast the first stone. I'm afraid there are a lot of people angry at you. You may have to pay a large price for this but time will heal it. Just keep your nose clean for a while and it will work out.

-- (rcarver@inacom.com), November 04, 1999.

This is just another one of his games. He's probably laughing about it on the Debunker board.
