Got your message John. Will give you a call.

BTW - GREAT RESULT!

World Cup - South Africa 21 Australia 27 fulltime LONDON, Oct 30 - The most dramatic match of the World Cup and perhaps one almost as dramatic as the 1995 final, was played out between the Wallabies and the Springboks.

Australia won the match by 27-21 after 20 minutes of extra time after Springbok flyhalf Jannie de Beer gave his side a late lifeline as he calmly slotted a 37 metre penalty to level the scores at 18-18 six minutes into injury time at the end of normal time.

It was a match that was expected to be evenly contested and it didn't disappoint as both sides delivered a match as close as a crowded Tokyo subway.

Australia absorbed early pressure in both halves as the Springboks started well and then faded. Wallaby fullback Matt Burke was their hero as he slotted a superb eight penalties from ten attempts.

Burke put the first points on the board as he landed a penalty in the 12th minute after the Springboks had enjoyed the brighter start. He added a second ten minutes later as the Wallabies gained control of the match.

They were keen to use their backs and some fine runs from centre Tim Horan and Burke were features of the play.

Both teams lived up to their reputations as wonderful defensive units as the the kickers were the only source of points.

De Beer tried his drop-kicking tactic in the first half as he attempted to emulate his feats against the English but he made a hash of an effort in the first half. He did manage to land a penalty in the 25th minute, but it was immediately nullified as Burke landed his third penalty of the match.

The kickers swapped a further penalty each by halftime leaving the score at 12-6 in favour of Australia.

The Springboks began the second period with a strong surge but the Wallabies absorbed the pressure although the Springboks managed six points through a penalty from De Beer and a predictable drop-goal from the pivot. With the scores levelled at 12-12 it seemed as if South Africa might get into the lead for the first time, but the Australians thought differently.

Burke added two more penalties in the 67th and 75th minutes to put the Wallabies into an 18-12 lead. With two minutes of normal time remaining it looked to be over for the Boks, but De Beer stepped up and landed a penalty from right in front to bring the South Africans back to within three points.

With the play stretched six minutes into injury time De Beer showed nerves of steel as he slotted a 37-metre penalty to take the match into injury time.

The Springboks scored first in the extra period but the Wallabies responded with another Burke penalty to level the scores at 21-21 at the end of the first period of extra time.

But then a moment of brilliance from flyhalf Stephen Larkham who out-de-Beered South Africa with a 48 metre drop-goal to put the Wallabies into the lead. A further Burke penalty sealed the Wallaby win and condemned South Africa to the end of their reign as world champions.

"We beat them by one point in Perth," said Springbok coach Nick Mallett. "Today was their turn to win. It was that close.

"It was dream to retain the Rugby World Cup. We're desperately disappointed."

Scorers: Australia: Penalties: Matt Burke (8), Drop-goals: Stephen Larkham South Africa - Penalties: Jannie de Beer (6), Drop-goals: De Beer

Cut & Paste (Andy) you cut & paste SO well. Glad to hear you've partially recovered from your breakdown after gold went south. Several of us were seriously concerned about your mental health (that is, more than previously).

But PLEASE CP, try to moderate your language. You know it's a sign of limited intelligence and lack of vocabulary.

Andy, you pathetic little twit. You wanna start a chat room go elsewhere. You are the biggest waste of bandwidth on this forum. You not only post a lot of crap, you then start talking to yourself throughout the thread. Bloody moron!

-- Andy (is@not.dandy), October 31, 1999.

'Official Y2K business' my ass. Moderators, please put a leash on this little yippy limey dog.

Hey if I abused the privilege every day you could complain. This is the first time. Ask the guy in Australia. What's with you yankee censors anyway???

-- Andy (2000EOD@prodigy.net), October 31, 1999.

Funny how 3 different handles turn up on this thread exactly at the same time.

You TROLLS (one in this case) are on a loser here, and on this forum generally.

You are not welcome and won't be tolerated, so you can all fuck offski :)

-- Andy (2000EOD@prodigy.net), October 31, 1999.

As usual Andy, you are way off the mark. Im sure that the sysops could confirm that we are three different posters tired of your crap, as are many on the board. However, that should not exclude you from the big picture. We were just hoping for a smaller snapshot. BTW, who is it that wont tolerate what? Looks like you have elevated yourself to some sort of lofty position-NOT!!!

-- Andy (is@not.dandy), October 31, 1999.

I could care less what you think moron.

I've never seen you post ANYTHING of substance be it from either side of the "debate"...

When you ever come up with something useful I will come back to you, in the meantime you can fuck off, annonymous troll.

I LOVE KRUGGERANDS!!!

-- Porky (Porky@in.cellblockD), October 31, 1999.

Hi Andy!

Glad to see you enjoyed the Rugby. I'm in Melbourne, and here we don't give a shit about rugby, we only like Aussie Rules footy! :~) Rugby? Ho hum, just another sport we totally rule the world in, big deal. But, I do appreciate you telling me the story of the semi, I'll watch the final. Now the cricket world cup against South Effrica, that was Phenomenal!!! (And I think sport is fundamentally fuckin stoooopid! For years I've much preferred paying attention to disasters-in-the-making and conspiracies and the systemic problems of this phase of civilisation.. How'd I become a y2k nut??? Geeee, I'll never know.)

Anywho, with regard to your mission, I guess I better talk to you about that in private. This b-board is swarming with assholes from Godnose where, (I'm still guessing it's due to the National Security((or is it National Socialism? it's gotten hard to tell)) ..um yeah, due to the National Security implications of 10-40% of the world's most important machines going on the fritz. But, no , actually they might be generic assholes, these ones who pop up whenever you post. Could be Poole! Maybe he realised he couldn't out-argue a turnip and just decided to become an anon. sniper.? And, yeah, also, maybe it's just people who don't realise that rightefully? we're afforded our dues just by being here for a long time and we can post whatever - so nyaaairh! This post is labelled pretty distinctly,

if yo short on time just read the embedded systems and banking threads, then ifff you're not a forum addict you'll get mighty busy in a hurry or else you'll sit in the corner rocking for 2-and-a-bit months. :~)

If you've all read that far here's a y2k argument for yuz,

offdatoppomy head.,,,

p1. That Flint guy is mostly full of Shite,.

p2. Flint says embedded systems aren't that bigga deal, probably only a few Chernobyls and Bhopals etc, plus Rube Goldberg etc

P3 if that Flint guy is wrong, it's only that things'll be even worse, not better...i.e. It's not reasonable to believe that things will be better than that schmuck thinks it'll be...

---

c. Oh my fuckin Gahd, if things are any worse than that pillock reckons, then all of us, even in the cushy countries, are at the least in for some very deeeep shit, and maybe we are toast?!

There's only so many times THIS can be said, after that, the forum becomes a place for socialising with that 1% of 1% of 1% of people who can comprehend the situation. Sorry! Otherwise, the place runs the danger of being overrun by relatively quite clever newbies who are trying to work out whether or not their AMZN.con shares will retain their value, or people who wanna apply the last ten year's Dow chart to the nexty ten years, or people who just aren't sure whether 3 days or FIVE days prep is more realistic????...

My point being, some of us LIVE here.....that's all.

Anyhow, Andy,..don't call me for a few hours (now - 7:14 am Sun Boulder time) because I'm in this groooovy cyber cafe which seems to be heavily populated by lesbians (I guess because the only guys who come here are gormless cyber weinies) and...well any how, there's these ones on the couch over there putting on a really good floorshow (well, couchshow, I guess), and I'm feeling JUST drugged enough to go and try...oh whatever.... be seeing you,.

Andy,

Your new cypher system is excellent. It took my Cray YMP desktop almost thirty seconds to decode your post as the transcript of Greenspan's most recent speech before the BIS.

It's ok by me if you delete this now. It'll scroll off in due course anyhow.
