SORRY TO EVEN POST SOMETHING. .... .

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Thanks fellow posters to this forum; I was asking an open question ,just like any one else does. It was interesting just how fast people can CUT DOWN a question of interest. Yes, I have seen other posts of the same type and content, and the responses were about the same level of consideration. It seems that if it's not a video or picture people wouldn't belive it either,we'll say or the picture is doctored or the video was computer-generated. I have to say I guess this is the way of thinking the American public has come to. Well ,again SORRY FOR EVEN POSTING SOMETHING . Furie...

This relates to Wal-mart trks carrying Signs ? ? ?

Actually, it is pretty tame on this forum, for the 'net.

If you want to see people really getting "cut down" (flamed), you should see the USENET (also known as network news), where then internet "old timers" hang out.

Assuming your post was genuine (it seems to have been), you just struck a "nerve" here, since the die-hard "doomers" feel the Government is poised for a takeover, and the die-hard "pollys" feel that the Government is too nice to do that (or a Government takeover would be a good thing).

Furie,

Don't take it too personally, I think the problem was that someone had posted exactly the same story about the WalMart trucks a few weeks ago. Besides, what do you expect from Hoffmeister, Mr. Pompous Jerk.

Sounds like "furie" has been hanging out at the Michael Hyatt "True Doomers Only" forum. If you question ANYONE you are banned. Very sensitive people over there.

Just to add fuel to the fire. Walmart trucks do not just carry Walmart loads. If Walmart is delivering a load of say generators (just tweaking) to a Sam's Club. They will look to fill that same truck on the return trip. Most trucking company's do this to keep the trailers full both ways. Sometimes they even get paid twice for the same load.

Don't know anything specific about loads and the BOL (bill of lading) might read something as simple as steel signs.....bulk.... 52 boxes.

The government probably doesn't know what the government is planning to do January. But I feel better because the man that invented the Internet can step up and take charge... Don't you feel better now? Yippeeee.

Furie,

I ran into some really interesting info from a fellow worker who I have known for years who told me inside scoop from her brother-inlaw but I refuse to post it because you know what would happen. And this isn't any little nobody!!!!!!! Let's just say it will send you back to Sam's club for a double load!:<

Furie, you forgot to put on your flameproof suit did you?

This internet is the wild wild wilder west. When you post something that means anything to you, never forget to wear your flameproof vest, and then wait for the wilderness to come try and shread it appart.

Furie

Don't let it get ya down, man. Just keep on keepin on, hell, Ive been told that most people here hate me. And that most of them pity my poor wife to boot! Howz that feel? And look at Flint, now there's a guy who damns the torpedos, full speed ahead! Talk about letting it roll off your back like duck.

As I alway say, "Joke em if they can't take a ....."

Who told you that Unc? Who are those "most people" anyway! Not anybody important for sure ;-)

Ah well, we can't all be lovable like our pet DiETEr, now can we.

I shan't name names, but it was a sweet elderly lady from Pasadena, and one other.

But I hold no grudges, I still like them. I'm flame proof. (That's a side effect of pompousity, ya know)

Hey Furie;

Wow, good to see you posting again! I've been very sporadic in visits lately, with my work schedule. It's great to here from you again. I hope things are well in your new place. You have been one of the regulars I have missed in the past few months.

I don't know what the fray is all about, since I have started reading from the top down, as usual. But I'm sure you remember how it is to get through the primo-newbie-donies. Keep your nose in the air and the sun at your back good buddy.

Respectfully

Michael

SCREW-EM, hang in there! :)

Yes, forums can get pretty nasty. Some folks here think it is humorous. Of course the particularly rude ones "flame" you and wait to see what the responses are. If they go in your favor, then they were being "funny"...if they go against you, then they were "right".

Personally, I have noted the professional flamers and now don't even read their posts or responses. I used to have hurt feelings and actually listened to them. But really they have nothing useful to say and only speak to be "clever" and gain an audience. So what is their opinion worth anyway?

Keep on posting and learn to be a discerning participant. Don't read the flamers. BTW a flamer is NOT the same as someone who honestly disagrees with you.

My hubby had a t-shirt that he called his "lucky" shirt. It read, "It's hard to soar with the eagles when you're working with turkeys". On the internet, we have plenty of both.

Cheer up and have a great day! :0)
