Maby they're reading Gogerty's 44 page summary on the Global Financial system on their lunch hour. You know, the one not fit to be aired in public...might cause panic and all.

Camdessus hints at early resignation

PARIS (AP) - The head of the International Monetary Fund has hinted that he may not see out his term, which ends in January 2001, the newspaper Le Monde reported Thursday.

Director General Michel Camdessus let his early resignation be understood during a conversation with Le Monde at a showing of the documentary film ``Le Pouvoir FMI'' (IMF Power), the paper said.

He stressed that the IMF General Assembly, held in Washington in September, allowed him to finish up a number of issues close to his heart, such as the Asian crisis, in which he orchestrated multibillion dollar rescue packages for Asian economies, and the program for debt reduction among the poorest nations.

His ``contract,'' he said, has been fulfilled.

As late as September 30, Camdessus, addressing a Washington gathering of finance ministers and central bank governors, discounted speculation he may consider resigning before the end of his third five-year term.

There have been rumors since September of an early departure for Camdessus. The rumors have been fed by the scandal over Russian money laundering in which IMF funds could be involved.

Where's the crash? I'm still waiting. Let me guess, its coming tomorrow, or was that Monday. I'm sure there will be plenty more predictions to debunk over the next several days.

Give it time.

*If* we move down to about 10,250, it's good night nurse, and you can kiss your a**es good-bye.

Don't necessarily expect a huge crash overnight, but the top has been reached and it is going the other way for good.

You heard it here FIRST.

Come on now. Thats not really an answer. That quote is used over and over again. Maybe if it is said enough times it will be believed. The technicals are always changing. they are not all that terrible. Remember last year? It was supposed to be KYAGB. Well, we are 3K higher now than we were then. I said it once, I'll say it again. THE DOW WILL BE OVER 11000 BY THE MIDDLE OF NOVEMBER OF 1999. There are several good buying ops out there even though y2k might cause a few localized problems.
