Q: How many times do you have to smash your thumb with the hammer before it hurts?

How many articles do you have to read, insider reports, expert analysis that documents Y2K failure, before you get it? How many?!

If your an imbecile it never hurts. If your ignorant you'll probably do it again and again. If your smart, it only takes one time and you get the BIG THROBBING picture.

One analogy problem, owl - Y2K hasn't really happened yet. Not all people will necessarily "get" something that hasn't been conclusively proven. Reading about the danger and inevitability of thumb-smashing, for example, does not hurt.

mil,

I would hope that I had brains enough to avoid being mugged(BITR) or even murdered(TEOTWAWKI) if I was given the opportunity to see my assailant long before he reached me.

Please correct me if I'm wrong,

but I have yet to read about any human being in history that has ceased to exist, or that has experienced cataclysmic life-altering crcumstances, due to the occasional hammer-blow to the thumb.

Good analogy, owl, in spite of yourself.

Think you might have bumped your own thumb, there.....
