Sometimes in our lives we experience things that in hindsight we usually conclude something to the effect:

"Gawd how could I have been so blind,or dense,or thick,or...."-- well you get the picture.

I come to this forum usually on a daily (hourly) basis and profoundly respect and appreciate the pool of talent and knowledge that exists here.

With all of the technical info. that is exchanged--be it Gold,y2k etc. Sometimes *I* can get so bogged down in the minutae of details and information that I miss what is right in front of us and even if some people see what is obvious they may doubt it.

If I step back for a moment and look at things without looking for explainations, what I see is several things.

CRUDE OIL has more than double in price in LESS than one year.

Gold has increased substantially in two weeks, this after being dormant for TWENTY YEARS and after being literally tossed out by BOE.

The STock market has STOPPED in its tracks for the last Two months.

Observing these three phenoms. and not seeing any common cause for them. (outside of Y2k)It Is substantial enough for me to be profoundly and confidently assured that just as the Sun will rise tommorow morning--the continued effect of y2k consciousness (subconscious)can be counted on to exacerbate these conditions uniquivocally!!!! and to doubt these signs borders on delusion!!

Eyes wide shut???

I think that this is that time when you start to feel a uneasy cool brease before a storm comes , its the calm before the storm, trees are gently swaying , and all of the little birds are looking for shelter, only the foolish golfer(POLLYS)are still out on the fair way yelling to you as you go by them that everything is going to be ok , and it is only a small storm , .

David: I farm and watch and trade the commodity markets. Crude Oil has doubled in price in the last eight months. Before OPEC in the 1960's Crude Oil and a Bushel of WHEAT were about par at ABOUT $1.50. Today Crude is $24. per Barrel and Wheat is $3.00/Bushel (March 2000 futures-CBT) Question: This comes from my 2nd generation Swiss broker------- "CAN YOU EAT A BARREL OF CRUDE OIL?" "WHAT SHOULD BE BE PRICED HIGHER OR AT LEAST AT PAR" There will be a day when we truly understand what is important. When? Maybe sooner than we expect, but something to consider. With all that farmers have had to endure over the last couple decades--imho-- this is a time when I would consider getting deeply committed to manifesting the archetypical 1940s style small acreage farm with a tractor some cows and chicken the wife and the kids.

Farming is about to make a very serious comeback!!! You lucky man!!!
