Sea chest may be from england too, but I feel it is from Denmark. it has the date stamped on the front 1897 and has a key hole lock, for which I have the key. What would the value of this be.

Dear Kris,

I know nothing about trunks myself, but a funny thing happened on the way to the store... I'm a couch and chair nut, myself. My friend Adam Barber and I were at one of several auntique shops here in town, minding our own buisiness, when we ran into a man that I purchased a big french sofa and chair from, about a year ago. I had been meaning to get in touch with the guy, as my mother has a table that she wants to get refinished (he's the best in town), and reintroduced myself to him, reminding him of my purchase a year ago. Not only did he remember me (I was surprised), but he remembered the kind of stuff that I was into. He then told me about this cameo-back couch that he had at his workshop. Fortunately, his shop is just across the street from where we were, and we went over right then. You may be wondering, "Just were the Hell is he going with this. What about my trunk? Does he ever get to the point?" Well, we talked for a while, looked at the couch, which was beautiful, and he asked, "Hey, do you guys want to see something really neat?" Naturally we said, "sure." Anything else wold have been quite rude, whether we wanted to or not, don't you think? He then opened a door to another large room, and Kris I swear that I didn't think that there were this many trunks in my state, much less one room, there were hundreds. They were all stacked up, row after row. It's his hobby, I learned, when he's not restoring 200 year old, wooden furniture. If there was ever anyone in this world that could tell you what you want to know, he is the one. I have no email adress for him, but his name is Marcus W. Switzer, and the two phone numbers on his card are: 946-9734, and 947-7732. The address on his card is: 4620 N.W. 10th, Oklahoma City, OK, 73127. The name of his buisiness is "Restore Old Trunks." I never knew that until the other day. He seems very friendly, and will no doubt be very helpful. I hope all of your reading was worth it!

Best wishes,

David Loudenback
