Thank you Gary North for informing us about Y2K and sticking it out in spite of the Polly's!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Gary North will be mentioned in the future history books as the Y2K man who saved millions of lives, in spite of the Polly's and our worthless Government!

THANKS GARY NORTH!!!!

Smitty,

I Second, with a big rousing Standing O. Are there any other men out there willing to stick there necks out to believe in something other than there 401K's?? America is looking for a few good men. Know any?? ....o'er the land of the free, and the home of the brave! Bullshit!

-- ripley (believe it or@not.net), October 01, 1999.

Here, here. I'm just another who GI because of Gary. Thank you for having the courage to be different and stand up for what you believe.

Too bad we didn't have Gary take over Kosky's job a year ago.

-- Bill (bill@tinfoil.com), October 01, 1999.

I never believe what people tell me till I learn it myself, but Gary scared me enough to make me check it out and then I saw the big picture. Some people hate him because he doesn't sugar-coat the facts as he sees them, but I WANT TO THANK HIM FOR BEING HONEST!!

THANKS GARY!! Best wishes in "Bartertown 2000"

Thank you Gary North. It only took 15 minutes to get it. Unfortunatly, I have spent 15% of my time (or more!) reading all the doom and gloom on the net. Your thousands of documents and leads to others once piled high in my office. I, as you thought that surely this kind of information would open up closed minds!

After months, now more than a year and a half, I convinced about 3 people (true GI's). The documents went into a dumpster after a friend (lawyer) said "I wouldn't believe you if you had a mountain of evidence!"

Gary - you have helped more people in America than anyone in history! (thanks again professor)

Absolutely Gary!!! And besides all that, he's very funny. Although it seems he was funnier earlier on. He really has done us such a service. Thanks for never quiting!! Good luck to everyone.

-- Gregg (g.abbott@starting-point.com), October 01, 1999.

I would like to add my thanks. Glad to have this opportunity since I do not have an email address.

Thanks Gary for being consistently intelligent, funny, hard-working and easy to understand. Thanks for being tough and courageous, and for waking us all up to the y2k dangers, and helping us understand the psychology and history as well as the technical.

Best of luck to you and your family after the rollover.

Even though GN is a religious wacko, this atheist admires his contributions in the secular (Y2K awareness) area.

-- A (A@AisA.com), October 01, 1999.

Most of all Mr. North,

Thank you for making us put our powers of logical thinking to the test, for telling us that The World As We Know It will end on January 1st, 2000, while you still offer 2-year subscriptions to your Remnant Review.

Still haven't figured that one out. Um...on the other hand, think I have. And so have a lot of other people.

-- Chicken Little (panic@forthebirds.net), October 01, 1999.

Yea, verily, it is so!! Hats off and kudos to the watchman willing to stand on the wall and warn those who would heed!!

-- Jay Urban (jurban@berenyi.com), October 01, 1999.

Thanks Gary,

After all these posts, I just HAD to stick in my 2 cents of thanks to Gary for staying committed to informing the public about the issues.

No need to say any more!

This is a great thread to start, what with THREE MONTHS now until Jan 1. Absolutely, a big thanks to Gary North, who besides sounding an early alarm about Y2K, has always backed it up with what has got to be the world's best documented evidence re Y2K. It would not surprise me that if things hold up well enough together post-Y2K, researchers will probably be doing a lot of digging there as they try to sort out who-said-what-when for the year 2000 blame game.

If Y2K is nearly as bad as I think it will be, there are thousands of people who will literally owe their lives to Gary North, myself among them. I think he's a highly courageous visionary, a brilliant thinker and a very funny guy.

Thank you, Gary.

What a bunch of wackos! I'm sure scary gary is touched by all this but it just goes to show the working of the meme mind. He saved millions of lives, all hail!

-- Gov informant (out@there.not here), October 01, 1999.

Dear Gary,

I'm a historian too. Our political views are about a million miles apart, but I've read your site every day since July 1998. The technical excellence of your research speaks for itself, and your site is absolutely the reason I'm sitting here looking at my spiffy new water filter and stashing KI. Thank you from all of my family.

-- PH (ag3@interlog.com), October 01, 1999.

Count me in as one who appreciates Gary a lot. Who knows? ---- maybe one day we'll be able to actually give him the thanks he deserves in a tangible way.

-- Jon Johnson (narnia4@usa.net), October 01, 1999.

Dr. North has done a good service, and in an old-fashioned scholarly way. Praise him for this, but don't stop being aware of his agenda.

At least he is not making a sham pretense of being objective.

-- Forrest Covington (theforrest@mindspring.com), October 01, 1999.

If not for D. North,I'd never have bought all of this amunition.

-- zoobie (zoobiezoob@yahoo.com), October 01, 1999.

Gosh,

With all this good feeling, I had to post twice.

Who else could have brought back the witch's broom? All the water plants, and water buckets, all over the world had dried up.

Who else could bring back the Golden Fleece? All the sheep (and every other non-Doomer organism on the planet) had died.

Who else could find the Holy Grail? All other Indiana Jones-type exploratory vehicles on earth had no gasoline.

Who else could raise the Titanic? The ocean waters would part for no one else.

Who else could find Atlantis? The UFO's would pay no attention to lesser tinfoil gods.

Who else but the mighty GAREE?

-- Chicken Little (panic@forthebirds.net), October 01, 1999.

Many thanks Gary for all your hard work.I've been reading your post since the fall of 1998,it has not only informed me on the upcoming dangers of Y2K but, also kept me from back sliding on preparing.

-- Maggie (aaa@aaa.com), October 01, 1999.

Dr. North, Thank you for your tireless efforts; for shinning a light on the endless spin, misinformation and stupidity. Youve helped my family to cut through the inertia and take action. My hat goes off to you.

-- Bradford (kokko@yahoo.com), October 01, 1999.

I sent a copy of this thread to Gary, and he responded by saying he feels like the telegraph operator on the Titanic.

Ed

Thank you Gary North! You are a hero in my book and I have the deepest respect for you.

If the mail stays up in 2000, I will subscribe to your newsletter! May the good Lord bless you for the endless hours you work to help mankind!

In a few months, those who have made fun of you and have ridiculed you, will have to swallow their words, BECAUSE THAT IS ALL THEY WILL HAVE TO EAT, because they failed to heed your warnings to stock pile food!!!

-- freddie (freddie@thefreeloader.com), October 01, 1999.

Thanks Ed,

That's pretty funny, and also unforunately probably very close to the truth. But thanks to you and Gary some of us will be able to get seats on the few lifeboats that are available!

-- @ (@@@.@), October 01, 1999.

There was another very llloooooonnnggg thread a ways back thanking Gary North. Hope he saw that one too. :-) We're extremely pressed for time these days but always try to click thru Dr. North's Links, Monday-Saturday, and read the articles. Thanks is way too mild a sentiment. Keep on!

Salt and light award to mr Gary North. Thanks Gary and may the good Lord shine his favor upon you and your family.

My home is in heaven anyways thank God for our Savior Jesus Christ His Son. If you can Direct your readers to help us build the new homeless shelter at least we can build a little hope before the big day. Thank you Gary and God Bless you. May I add another applause to Gary......this may sound strange to everyone, but I read Ed's book, "Time Bomb 2000", at the suggestion of Bob Brinker's radio program, over a year ago. Callers had been asking about Y2K, and as always Bob tried to assure them Y2K won't be any biggee, but said for those who are interested, they might read the book.....which I did.

However, listening to Gary, by chance, on Art Bell's show, when I couldn't sleep late at nite, I became a GI. (Ed and Jennifer set the stage, but Gary gave me the impetus to actually get with the program.) I check his daiy posts and suscribe to his newsletter. To think that he gives up so much of his time to keep us abreast of the topic speaks reams for his concern for his fellow man, even if many don't agree with his religious views.

Thanks to him, I feel I am close to being ready for almost anything. Even if Y2K really turns out to be a BITR, there are so many other possible worst case scenarios, and I have the feeling of security, now. It's a good feeling to know that you are prepared for almost anything. Thank you, Gary!

-- Jo Ann (MaJo@Michiana.com), October 02, 1999.

Yes, Gary, Thank You for all your hard work. You are truely an American Hero.

Godspeed,

Pinkrock

P.S.:

And, Chicken Little, why don't you just shut up. Your ridicule and mockery helps no one, and contributes nothing of value. You are a waste of bandwidth, and I sneer at the malignant, simple-minded and myopic drivel which you spew.

-- Pinkrock (Aphotonboy@aol.com), October 02, 1999.

From Australia. To Gary North "who smelled a rat in Washington, and was right." Many Thanks.

-- Tony Power (power@mail.austasia.net), October 02, 1999.

I thank the Lord every night for giving me insomnia the night Gary was on Art Bell's show a year ago. If I had been sleeping, my little ones might have to go hungry next year. I know the Lord was telling me something. Just when I think I am all prepared, a little voice tells me "stock more, this is not enough" so I keep on canning, buying, gardening and planning. God bless Gary for all he has done.

-- Homeschooling Grandma (mlaymon@glenn-co.k12.ca.us), October 03, 1999.

I read threads like this, and just shake my head. What on Earth are you people thinking? Gary has spread every bad rumor and ridiculous story around. And every one, as he flatly states, with his SPIN.

How are you going to feel a few months from now when it finally sinks in that the 'BIG Y2K DISASTER' just isn't going to happen? I hope you learn to become more skeptical about unproven claims in the future.

-- Paul Davis (davisp1953@yahoo.com), October 03, 1999.

Few people in 1999 America have the courage and character of Gary North. Believe the lies and spin of Kosky or the documented research of GN? There are fools even on this forum that want to believe the former. If Y2K was a "bump in the road" the Establishment could, with ANY KIND of substantiated facts, show it as such. The truth will shine bright. Truly great Americans are a treasure.
